"Mr. Castillo and his crew did an excellent job on each project we had for him to do. He laid a sidewalk from the driveway to the back patio. He added concrete to the sides of the driveway under the wooden carport for us to stabilize the carport and actually raised the carport since it was leaning away from the garage/workshop that it was attached to. He laid a 12X24 ft. slab for a storage building we are going to put up and also added concrete to the curve we make to enter the garage. On top of that, he used his bobcat to cut drainage pathways in the land so water doesn't stand on the patio anymore. He also took the excess dirt dug out for all of the concrete work done and leveled our low spots in the land for us. He did whatever we asked him to do. He and his crew stayed busy the entire time they were onsite. They also completed their work in quick fashion and at an affordable price. I will definitely use this company again and will refer this company to others needing concrete work done."

"Ivan and his crew were very professional. The house was leveled, the doors were square again and the wall cracks were nearly completely closed. They cleaned up the site very well. The concrete patch work is OK, but not great, it could have been better. Overall, I am very satisfied."

"I called Ryan with Firm Foundation to help us with a retaining wall. We wanted it put up after finishing our pool project. My husband, whose family is in the masonry business, was skeptical before meeting with him. But boy oh boy did Ryan know what he is talking about. My husband was convinced our side yard which was a pretty steep ?hill? could not be flattened out, which is what I wanted. We were building a pool and have 2 boys that needed a place to run and that side yard was all we had left after putting that pool in. Ryan came up with an amazing plan. And we were both so happy with how that yard and wall turned out. Simply stunning! The pool company was terrible and wasn?t really willing to work with Ryan and his schedule. But Ryan was very patient with us and them. They kept pushing back the finish date. Ughh. He also did our water drainage plan that works amazing! This was 3 years ago. Everything is still working and looking perfect!! Hire him!!!!!"

FAQs for concrete work projects in Seagoville, TX

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.

Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.

Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.

An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
