"Mark, the company owner, provided design details for the project which filled out and improved on our original general ideas. The site was prepared and concrete poured in a single day, 17 days after we agreed on the bid. Form removal, washing, sealing, and cleanup were completed within the next week. Mark was personally on site working and supervising at all times through the entire project. He was professional and personable and was committed to providing results that would meet our approval. Mark's bid was lower than the other two bids we had, but based on our initial meeting with him and favorable company reviews, we would gone with him even if it had been a bit higher. We highly recommend him."

Small jobs welcome

"The men that did the work were professional, thorough and friendly. I would contract with this company with no reservations. My backyard was completely covered with concrete; with very little grass showing. They broke up the concrete and hauled it away. It's such an improvement."

"John John Concrete did a fantastic job, was responsive, from first quote to completion of project was about 2 weeks. They were incredibly fast. Price was so much better than any quotes I got from other contractors, I didn’t even have to negotiate. Will be using them again on our next concrete project. Highly recommend."

Customers say: True professional

"This was an excellent experience. The contractor was 100% punctual. He was very clear and precise on what I would be getting. He asked questions that I didn’t think of. The craftsmanship and work was top tier. I wouldn’t think of using another company. I will be rehiring when the time is needed. It was a great experience. Clean up was spectacular as well. I could not be happier. Turned out far better than I anticipated."

"I was really impressed by Bruce and Keith (finisher and foreman). Bruce rearranged his schedule to give me a bid since we live on the Olympic Peninsula. We had a lot of weather delays due to snow and rain but at the earliest opportunity Keith and his team got the prep and pour done in two work days. It was a technically difficult job with the location of an existing catch basin but the work was done with great attention to detail. In my experience they always kept their word and responded promptly. Their team was fast and clean and the quality of this job raised the appearance of the entire property. If you have to wait a little to get on their schedule there is a good reason for it....they are worth it."

FAQs for concrete work projects in Seattle, WA

Figuring out how many bars you need isn’t a one-size-fits-all equation. A structural engineer or experienced concrete contractor will look at your slab’s thickness, the loads it must carry, and local code requirements, then run the numbers for you. That quick consultation protects your budget and keeps the finished slab safe, level, and up to code.

Match the metal to the job. For light, thin pours like a sidewalk, welded wire mesh often does the trick. Thicker slabs—driveways, garage floors, foundations—usually call for traditional steel bars. If your site sees salt, humidity, or coastal spray, spend the extra cash on galvanized or stainless steel to fend off rust and avoid future repairs. When in doubt, a concrete pro can confirm the best fit for your project and budget.

Stainless steel costs more up front, but the alloy can last 75 years or longer with little to no rust. That longevity means fewer repairs, less maintenance, and peace of mind for structures exposed to salt, moisture, or de-icing chemicals. If you’re pouring near the coast or in a humid climate, the extra dollars now can save you multiple replacements down the road.

An engineer will review the slab’s thickness, span, soil conditions, and expected loads, then specify bar size, spacing, and grade. Skipping that step or guessing can leave you with cracked concrete or a blown budget. For a modest consultation fee, a local engineer or contractor can do the math and hand you a rebar schedule that meets code and keeps your project on solid footing.
