"Roy came out within a week after speaking with him at the Home Show at Cal Expo.  Originally, I planned to get a sunroom and was impressed with the model he displayed at the time.  By the time he came out for the estimate, I changed my mind to just a patio cover only because i haven't lived in my house long enough to determine the shade pattern and how it would affect my need for a sunroom.  Roy assured me that it would be no problem to start with the shade cover, then build a sunroom around the deck later if that's where things ended up.  
The Patio cover went up quickly, and looks great.  The posts are aluminum, but are textured and painted so they look like composite wood, yet are going to be maintenance free in the years to come.
It's pretty likely that I will have them return to enclose everything in a sun room at a later date, but for now at least, I've got a patio cover that looks like a patio cover and not like something homemade (which surely would have been the case if my husband did it.)"
