Get matched with top deck pros in Kirkland, WA

"You can stop looking, you have found an honest builder with pride in workmanship. I looked for months for a deck builder I felt would do a good job. Several of them were from Angies list and they were not interested in what I wanted, they were interested in what they could sell me. I talked to them about the fact that I had a mature garden and they would need to work around the plants. They told me I would have to move the plants. I wanted to know if the structure of the deck was still safe. They told me they wouldn’t know until they took the deck apart. I told them what my budget was. They had no advise or options to offer. I balked. They mansplained. I tore up their bids which were outrageous. One was for $33,000. It just isn’t that big a deck. I was really bummed. Then I found Ray. Ray came to my house and inspected the deck I had. He even crawled under it to check the structure. He answered questions. He explained the process and told me what it would cost to replace the deck I had. It was too expensive. He suggested alternative designs that would fit my budget. We talked back and forth for three weeks until we had a nice design that I could afford. He understood about my garden and assured me they could work around the plants and would be careful. He brought me decking samples, discussed pros and cons of different materials, and was patient and answered all my questions. He sent me a schematic of the deck with an estimate that listed supplies. I hired him. Ray and his son were the first contractors to work on my home that I didn’t feel I had to watch to make sure they did the job I paid them for. In fact, when they got some bad materials, they took them back to the supplier rather than just use them anyway. They finished the job at the cost we agreed on and there were no surprises. They left my property cleaner than they found it and not one plant lost its life to them. I now have a deck that is beautiful and that will outlast me. Decks are not all Ray and his son do. The next project I do on my home, this company will be the first I call."

"These guys are stellar. My deck was in disrepair and I was uncertain what to do with it - whether to totally knock it down and start anew, or to build on the existing foundation. Also what material to use - composite, wood, etc. They came out, looked at my deck, gave recommendations, and worked within my budget. We went with cedar, and within two weeks, I had an absolutely beautiful new deck, built on the existing foundation. I was very pleased with the whole interaction - they were courteous and professional, friendly and hard-working, arriving early and working through the day to get the job done. It was for me an exceedingly good experience with a contractor, and their work is solid. I was nervous as a first time home owner to hire a contractor, for fear of not knowing enough and being taken. I had spoken with several other general contractors and also specific deck builders prior to hiring Modern Exteriors, and each could have built a deck. One larger company offered a lower price but when they came out, the materials they suggested would have been sub-par and the deck would have been plastic-looking. These guys are a smaller business that build decks for a living, and are very good at it and clearly enjoy each project - like works of art. I highly recommend them."

"You won’t find a better deck pro than Eric Delay. He and his team did a great job on my deck. And worked so independently that we hardly knew they were there. And after a great job on the new deck, they put in phenomenal deck lighting. Thanks for the effort and detail."

"Alex responded quickly for a RFQ on deck staining. Upon request, I sent pics to Alex for further review. He responded quickly stating deck just needed one more coat of stain. I will complete the project myself. Because of Alex’s quick response to my questions AND his honesty, he will be the first one I contact for any future deck projects. 5 star rating!"

"Ryan is the consulate pro.He did our fence, deck railing, stairs and skirting. All of it was done to perfection.I couldn't give a stronger recommendation and will hire for future work.Hr completed the job when he said he would and made sure we were happy."

"Roman was diligent in his work and did a great job. He made recommendations based on our questions, then replaced a portion of our decking and restored the railing. We have asked for estimates on other projects because we want to continue to work with him. We highly recommend Krutin, LLC."

"Nikita and his team worked on replacing our rotten wood deck and upon removing the siding, our studs were all rotten, so they repaired our wall and siding as well. Their work was excellent, and they completed the repairs and deck rebuild in a timely manner. I would definitely hire them again for future home remodeling projects!"

"We recently hired Kirkland Roofing Company to replace our entire roof, and we are extremely happy with how everything turned out. From the beginning, Joshua was very professional, responsive, and easy to communicate with. He took the time to explain the condition of our old roof, what needed to be replaced, what materials would be used, and what we could expect throughout the project. The crew showed up when they said they would and worked hard from start to finish. They removed the old roofing, inspected the decking underneath, completed the necessary repairs, and installed the new roofing system very carefully. We really appreciated that they didn?t just rush through the job. They paid attention to the flashing, vents, ridge caps, edges, and all of the smaller details that can easily get overlooked. Joshua kept us updated throughout the project and let us know what was happening each step of the way. If anything came up, he explained it clearly before moving forward. Communication"
