Randy was very patient with us in trying to decide whether to use cedar or pressurized wood to support the deck as well as our seasonal porch. On the first day of work, a three man crew arrived with Brandon as the lead team member. The crew was very professional, knowledgeable, and quiet as they worked for the next five days. "It's true: working with Hal is not like working with other contractors. With Hal, you are developing a relationship, not fulfilling the terms of a contract. For some that might be more than they want out of a contractor. For me, it was exactly what I needed. Example: I was talking with Hal about another matter when we both happened to notice some rotting boards on our deck. I thought it was unsightly, but nothing serious. Hal persuaded me that, without immediate attention, the rot would spread to the joists underneath, and what was a small problem now would be a big problem later. He replaced the deck boards on time and for the price he quoted. I can now rest assured I won't be plunging through the deck this summer. Along the way, Hal fixed some off-kilter gates in our yard, and also consulted with me about some stains on our stucco (thus managing to solve a problem that had stumped several other contractors). He's always on the end of the line when I have a home repair question. He's been there for me for some five years now. There's plenty of quality workers out there, but not many who will listen as well, contribute as much, and return as often as Hal Morris."

"Initial consultation was with Amy and my husband. Since I wasn't sure
what styles were discussed in my absence, she quickly emailed me
pictures of a few different options. I made multiple changes before the
install date, and Amy took it all in stride. When it came to the first
day of work, the demo guy came out to check out our existing chain link.
Apparently it was more work than he thought and had to reschedule to
come out a couple days later when he had more time. Due to a
miscommunication and misunderstanding (we said we would take care of
disposal of the old fence and they thought it meant we would entirely
remove and dispose the old fence and then I didn't read the quote well
enough to notice that they did not include removal in the price), it
took a little bit longer than expected. No big deal, that's on us to
more clearly communicate and read better!
Once the old fence was
taken out and the posts were set, the fence was up in little more than a
day. The guy who put it up was SO fast, he motivated the other
contractor we had building our deck. Wish I would have known that
Artistic could have built that, too, because we would have loved to have
that up in two days as well!
Any issues or concerns I had in the
process, I just called and talked to Mary in the office and she sorted
everything out. I would highly recommend this company to anyone and
everyone. All of our neighbors have come over to tell us how much they
love our fence!

"Working with Trevor and his guys was AWESOME! He came out to our house, got the measurements, inquired about everything we were looking for in our new deck. He provided multiple options (Cedar, Composite, Combination of both types of materials) and provided his insights to help us make the best choice for us.  I got multiple bids for the job and his was by far the best. There was another builder who was trying to charge an additional $6,000 for the exact same deck. He completed the plans for us and stayed in email and phone contact with us the entire time.
He got the work underway a month before we were supposed to start, after checking in to make sure that was alright with us. Trevor and his guys did a wonderful job using a Herringbone pattern on the decking and really nice wood work for the railings and stairwell. They used routers to smooth the edges and added some nice detail. There isn't one thing we don't like about our new deck. 
As someone with limited experience in construction, I really appreciated that he had the expertise and ethics to do the best job possible. I would refer this company to anyone looking for an honest, hard working, attention to detail oriented builder. It is evident that these gentlemen love what they do and they are excellent at it.
