"The ChimneyTek team came out and said the chimney was unsafe and had to be overhauled for over $12,000 and they couldn't get started until a plumber came and removed the gas insert. We had a second estimate by another chimney company, and they installed a wood stove and repaired the chimney and made it safe for about $3000 total. Not sure what ChimneyTek was up to, but we definitely had sticker shock and won't be back. We also asked for a copy of the report that they showed us in person, and never received one.
