"The workers did very well with the chimney cleaning and even went out of the way to fix a problem that we'd had with the fireplace insert for over 20 years. However, as they left, they ran into a 20 year old miniature Japanese maple tree and sheared it off at the trunk. The tree was about 7" in diameter, which is quite large for one of these. The workers came in and reported it to my wife and said the company would pay for the damage. It took over a month and several phone calls and emails before they sent a check for reimbursement for the (much smaller) tree that I bought to replace it. The owner avoided me and delayed paying for weeks. My advice is to use OTCS if you don't expect any problem that would require you to interact with the owner. The workers and workmanship were very good."

"After purchasing the deal online late Sat 10/24/15 I received an email from the owner Jan telling me someone could perform the service Monday 10/26/15. I was pleased.  The technician arrived on Monday.  I will spare the technician the embarrassment of most of the details but I was told that I needed a new gas valve...it did not go well.  So much so that I called the owner to tell him we would not be doing business and that I would ask for a refund from Angie's list.  He politely asked for details since this technician was a new hire and that as a business owner it was important to him.  After my explanation he asked if he could please send another technician out the following morning free of charge as he wanted to make this right.  I agreed.  A gentleman named Greg arrived at 9:30 and was directed to my fireplace.  I told him to have at it as I would continue my housework and be within ear shot.  At 9:50 Greg called me into the room and said everything was ready to go explaining that a safety feature had been enabled.  I couldn't believe it!  I was quickly reminded how important it is to speak directly with a business owner in these situations.  So now, not only does Jan's company have my future business for my fireplace needs but also any plumbing needs or any services his business performs.  I was more than happy to cancel my refund request from Angie's list and write this honest and positive review instead!
