"Since Ms. Hawthorne's services were for six hours of her expertise, I wanted to make the most of her time. I called her and she promptly called back and I informed her of the project.  I also informed her of the closet renovation and she was willing to work with the rep to ensure that I had a good color transition from the bedroom, to the bathroom and then to the closet.  The colors that were selected were based on the new bedding that was purchased
She created timeline of the items that I wanted to address while she was there and once I approved it we set an appt. 
The day off the appt. she arrived 15 minutes early and began the process.  The closet designer had already been there about 45 minutes and was wrapping up with the design.  After the design was complete we (Ms. Hawthorne, myself and Maxwell Closet rep) began discussing colors. She had her color wheel, which made the process a lot easier. Once the colors were set, we called the contractor to set a date for the painting.
After that she accompanied me to the paint store, where we purchased all the paint that was required for the project, labeled it for each room that it was designated for.  Once the colors were purchased she accompanied me to purchase appropriate fixtures and décor for the master suite.   
When we returned to the house, there were some other design tips that helped me achieve the room transformation.  There were some pieces of furniture that were removed and others were relocated within the room.
Once the contractor finished the renovation and painting - all of Ms. Hawthorne's selections and suggestions for the new room made it a true transformation.  She came by about three weeks after the job was completed and was as pleased as I was on how the project turned out.

"It is a waste of money. The great majority of people are not going to find any value out of the service. If you need design consultation, you need a full service consultation. If you already have knowledge and experience, and you just need to get a few ideas, then you don't need to pay for that. You can just get a magazine or a book since you already have the knowledge of basic designs in your head or a little bit of experience. To have someone call you and give you information over the phone, you are not getting the personal service that you need. You may as well take the money $49 and apply it to something else like getting someone else to come out and give you the service that you need. Because, you are not getting much, you are not getting anything at all. They are going to have you do the work. After talking to them and I was talking to other home designers, I found out that that was a waste of time and waste of money. I gave them a C because they didn't fail at what they do but they don't offer any value for what they do. There's not much value to it. The cost was fair. They didn't do a terrible job and the cost isn't terrible, it was only $49. It just has a very low value. For responsiveness I gave them a B because they will answer your phone and answer your emails."
