"I can't say enough about how pleased I am with painting done by Blair from VIP. He was detail oriented and methodical. He made my walls look brand new, and that was no easy task. Blair cleaned up at the end of each day. He was friendly, considerate and kept his mask on the whole time. The job took a couple of days longer than I had anticipated, but it was so worth the wait. I am looking forward to when I can have people over again and show them my new space."

"Mike built a pole building for us. Communication with Mike was excellent. When I called, he answered every time. Quality of the work and the product was very good and he kept me updated as to each step of the process. He has a great staff that seems to work well together. I made a couple of changes mid stream and they were handled without issue. Aside from a couple of delays, which were not his fault (weather and county permits), project was done on time. I will call him for my next project. Gary"

Customers say: True professional
"Dave, once again, did a fantastic job. I live in a small old, old house and he tackled all the problems that come with working on a house that is tight on space and just plain crooked with ease. He's great at answering questions and trying to help you find solutions to problems that aren't even on his list of "to-dos". He doesn't just care about getting the job done he cares about the person or family in the home as if it was his own family. If you are looking to renovate a preexisting space, Diamondwood is your team."

Enclosing a carport essentially turns it into a garage. You’ll start by framing and finishing exterior walls, then add a garage door (averaging $1,200), windows, and wiring for lights or outlets.
Plan for site prep and, if needed, a thicker slab to handle the added weight. Once the walls are up, insulation, drywall, and exterior siding create a secure, weather-tight space that protects vehicles and gear year-round.
A well-built carport may not add a huge dollar figure to an appraisal, but it can boost buyer appeal. Covered parking protects vehicles and lawn equipment, sharpens curb appeal, and fills what might otherwise be an empty driveway space. If the carport matches your home’s style and stays in good repair, it can make the property more attractive and competitive when you decide to sell.
Most cities and counties require a building permit for a new carport. Fees range from $60 to $800, depending on local codes and the size of the structure. Getting the permit upfront ensures the carport meets zoning rules and HOA guidelines, protecting you from fines or expensive retrofits later. Check with your building department—or ask your contractor—before ordering materials or scheduling installation.
A poured concrete slab is the gold standard for carport foundations. Concrete delivers superior load-bearing strength, keeps posts level, and resists shifting in freeze-thaw conditions. While gravel, dirt, or permeable pavers cost less upfront, they can’t match concrete’s long-term stability, especially if you might convert the carport into a garage later. Investing in a slab now can save money and hassle down the road.
Pre-made kits start at $300 and bundle all the required parts—sometimes installation, too—making them the most budget-friendly option. Custom carports cost more ($12 to $40 per square foot plus labor) but let you match the design, size, and finishes to your home.
If price and quick setup top your list, go with a kit. If you have a tricky layout or want a seamless aesthetic, investing in a custom build is worth the premium.
