"Jerome and Vivian were awesome to work with! They took the time to design and ensure the new insulated garage doors were perfectly matched for our home. They are responsive, efficient, and know garage systems inside-and-out. We are very proud of our new garage doors. Military friendly business!"

"We feel like the garage is now another room of the house.  We purged, painted, installed new storage but the crowning glory is the beautiful epoxy floor that Steve and his crew installed.  Steve made the date, was on time and finished right when he said they would.  The price was just what I expected and we are extremely happy.  We are having a big party this weekend that will include the garage as party space and I'm sure Steve will be getting calls after the party!!

"We met with 3 companies for my Kitchen Renovation but in the end I knew that Remodel Max was the company for us. They did quality work and even gave me some suggestions about things I never would have thought about during the process. From the Pocket Door, to a sweep vent that works with my Central Vac. Everyone that sees my kitchen absolutely loves it! We will be using this company again for our bathroom renovation! Thank you to Wayne, Jeff, Brandon and Eddie!!"

FAQs for garage and garage door service projects in North East, MD

Enclosing a carport essentially turns it into a garage. You’ll start by framing and finishing exterior walls, then add a garage door (averaging $1,200), windows, and wiring for lights or outlets.

Plan for site prep and, if needed, a thicker slab to handle the added weight. Once the walls are up, insulation, drywall, and exterior siding create a secure, weather-tight space that protects vehicles and gear year-round.

A well-built carport may not add a huge dollar figure to an appraisal, but it can boost buyer appeal. Covered parking protects vehicles and lawn equipment, sharpens curb appeal, and fills what might otherwise be an empty driveway space. If the carport matches your home’s style and stays in good repair, it can make the property more attractive and competitive when you decide to sell.

Most cities and counties require a building permit for a new carport. Fees range from $60 to $800, depending on local codes and the size of the structure. Getting the permit upfront ensures the carport meets zoning rules and HOA guidelines, protecting you from fines or expensive retrofits later. Check with your building department—or ask your contractor—before ordering materials or scheduling installation.

A poured concrete slab is the gold standard for carport foundations. Concrete delivers superior load-bearing strength, keeps posts level, and resists shifting in freeze-thaw conditions. While gravel, dirt, or permeable pavers cost less upfront, they can’t match concrete’s long-term stability, especially if you might convert the carport into a garage later. Investing in a slab now can save money and hassle down the road.

Pre-made kits start at $300 and bundle all the required parts—sometimes installation, too—making them the most budget-friendly option. Custom carports cost more ($12 to $40 per square foot plus labor) but let you match the design, size, and finishes to your home.

If price and quick setup top your list, go with a kit. If you have a tricky layout or want a seamless aesthetic, investing in a custom build is worth the premium.
