"Jerome and Vivian were awesome to work with! They took the time to design and ensure the new insulated garage doors were perfectly matched for our home. They are responsive, efficient, and know garage systems inside-and-out. We are very proud of our new garage doors. Military friendly business!"

"We had Floorguard finish our garage in Yardley. Overall, we couldn’t be more pleased with how it turned out. Doing the garage really changed the overall look, feel, and comfort of our house. Steve was awesome to work with, and the process was easier than expected. We met with him once and worked through various designs and options via email and phone calls. We did two hanging lofts, 5 cabinets, a full slat wall (mighty wall) and the epoxy flooring for a 3 car garage. I can't say enough good things about Steve and his team - the whole work product was excellent, they were punctual and respectful. In addition, Steve played football at West Point - not only is he a genuine nice guy, but it's awesome supporting someone's business with his past. We would strongly recommend consulting Steve and Floorguard for any garage project. Absolutely worth the money - it literally made the garage a living space within our house."

"Pro lift contractor went the extra mile. Got the garage door off my car as soon as he arrived. Got the garage door lifted so I could get my car out before he left. I would definitely recommend Pro lift."

"Justin was great from the time of appointment scheduling to the actual repair! He was very professional, polite and personable. He thoroughly explained what was going on with the garage door as well as the "fixes" (both long-term and short-term). I would definitely call on Susquehanna again!"

Enclosing a carport essentially turns it into a garage. You’ll start by framing and finishing exterior walls, then add a garage door (averaging $1,200), windows, and wiring for lights or outlets.
Plan for site prep and, if needed, a thicker slab to handle the added weight. Once the walls are up, insulation, drywall, and exterior siding create a secure, weather-tight space that protects vehicles and gear year-round.
A well-built carport may not add a huge dollar figure to an appraisal, but it can boost buyer appeal. Covered parking protects vehicles and lawn equipment, sharpens curb appeal, and fills what might otherwise be an empty driveway space. If the carport matches your home’s style and stays in good repair, it can make the property more attractive and competitive when you decide to sell.
Most cities and counties require a building permit for a new carport. Fees range from $60 to $800, depending on local codes and the size of the structure. Getting the permit upfront ensures the carport meets zoning rules and HOA guidelines, protecting you from fines or expensive retrofits later. Check with your building department—or ask your contractor—before ordering materials or scheduling installation.
A poured concrete slab is the gold standard for carport foundations. Concrete delivers superior load-bearing strength, keeps posts level, and resists shifting in freeze-thaw conditions. While gravel, dirt, or permeable pavers cost less upfront, they can’t match concrete’s long-term stability, especially if you might convert the carport into a garage later. Investing in a slab now can save money and hassle down the road.
Pre-made kits start at $300 and bundle all the required parts—sometimes installation, too—making them the most budget-friendly option. Custom carports cost more ($12 to $40 per square foot plus labor) but let you match the design, size, and finishes to your home.
If price and quick setup top your list, go with a kit. If you have a tricky layout or want a seamless aesthetic, investing in a custom build is worth the premium.
