"One of our rental homes had a bad house fire. We had to gut it down to the studs, kept the exterior siding, but everything else had to be replaced, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, plus walls, floors, ceilings, bathroom and kitchen. The works. Tyler from SimpleFix ran the project with his crew, kept in great communication, and stayed on it until we were satisfied with the finished work. His estimate was accurate, and we have received rave reviews from tenants about how grateful the place looks since then. We've continued to use SimpleFix for many projects since then, and we keep coming back to because they communicate promptly and get the work done right. We highly recommend SimpleFix, and we often refer them to friends and family, too."

"Winter was comeing in fast and they were here evryday. They worked hard trying to finish before snow. They worked long hours and did a wonderful job finishing the driveway to the specs we requested..They were extremely professional .We were so happy with their work.We hired them to come back in spring and lay a sidewalk and a slab in our back yard. They did what others said couldn't be done due to dropping temperatures. We recommend them for all your concrete work."

"Jimmy, from TNT Garage Doors and Openers was prompt to arrive and work on re-adjusting garage door tracks. He was courtesy, knowledgeable, and fully prepared. Once he was done, the garage door open and closed properly, along with being quieter than ever before. He discounted us because we are seniors and he told us he even discounts veterans, policemen, and firemen. The next day, I realized my new weather stripping would not work on the adjustments Jimmy completed to make the garage door work better. When I called Jimmy to discussed, he said he would come back the next morning. He was there early and adjusted the framing and the garage door more to make the new weather stripping fit perfectly. Jimmy told us that if we needed him to come out again, he would have no problem because he wanted to make sure we were satisfied customers. Now tha is customer service. I highly recommend Jimmy and TNT Garage Doors and Openers."
Enclosing a carport essentially turns it into a garage. You’ll start by framing and finishing exterior walls, then add a garage door (averaging $1,200), windows, and wiring for lights or outlets.
Plan for site prep and, if needed, a thicker slab to handle the added weight. Once the walls are up, insulation, drywall, and exterior siding create a secure, weather-tight space that protects vehicles and gear year-round.
A well-built carport may not add a huge dollar figure to an appraisal, but it can boost buyer appeal. Covered parking protects vehicles and lawn equipment, sharpens curb appeal, and fills what might otherwise be an empty driveway space. If the carport matches your home’s style and stays in good repair, it can make the property more attractive and competitive when you decide to sell.
Most cities and counties require a building permit for a new carport. Fees range from $60 to $800, depending on local codes and the size of the structure. Getting the permit upfront ensures the carport meets zoning rules and HOA guidelines, protecting you from fines or expensive retrofits later. Check with your building department—or ask your contractor—before ordering materials or scheduling installation.
A poured concrete slab is the gold standard for carport foundations. Concrete delivers superior load-bearing strength, keeps posts level, and resists shifting in freeze-thaw conditions. While gravel, dirt, or permeable pavers cost less upfront, they can’t match concrete’s long-term stability, especially if you might convert the carport into a garage later. Investing in a slab now can save money and hassle down the road.
Pre-made kits start at $300 and bundle all the required parts—sometimes installation, too—making them the most budget-friendly option. Custom carports cost more ($12 to $40 per square foot plus labor) but let you match the design, size, and finishes to your home.
If price and quick setup top your list, go with a kit. If you have a tricky layout or want a seamless aesthetic, investing in a custom build is worth the premium.
