"Very impressed with the service from Overhead Door Company. Gary T. was the service technician. He was was very personable, professional, knowledgeable and went above and beyond to provide exceptional customer service! He was on time, did a thorough review of the system and quickly diagnosed the issue. He replaced all of the necessary components and the system is working great! Additionally, Gary provided tips on keeping the garage door system in good working condition. I highly recommend giving them a call when you’re in need of service on your garage door. Also, the price was reasonable. Overall great service!!"

Customers say: Quick response

"I was up the wall when I saw my overhead garage door reverse before even hitting the floor. This prompted me to reach out to Express Garage Door for their professional garage door service. Turned out the rollers was damaged causing extra friction which fools the opener to stop too early."

"My garage project was very complicated, so only a very few companies on Angi could do the job. It involved converting two single-car garage doors into one, and removing a brick covered post between the two single-car garage doors. I am glad we hired Liberty Garage Door Services! The job took 3 days to complete, and the garage looks brand new (on our 3-yr old house)!"

FAQs for garage and garage door service projects in Sandy Springs, GA

Enclosing a carport essentially turns it into a garage. You’ll start by framing and finishing exterior walls, then add a garage door (averaging $1,200), windows, and wiring for lights or outlets.

Plan for site prep and, if needed, a thicker slab to handle the added weight. Once the walls are up, insulation, drywall, and exterior siding create a secure, weather-tight space that protects vehicles and gear year-round.

A well-built carport may not add a huge dollar figure to an appraisal, but it can boost buyer appeal. Covered parking protects vehicles and lawn equipment, sharpens curb appeal, and fills what might otherwise be an empty driveway space. If the carport matches your home’s style and stays in good repair, it can make the property more attractive and competitive when you decide to sell.

Most cities and counties require a building permit for a new carport. Fees range from $60 to $800, depending on local codes and the size of the structure. Getting the permit upfront ensures the carport meets zoning rules and HOA guidelines, protecting you from fines or expensive retrofits later. Check with your building department—or ask your contractor—before ordering materials or scheduling installation.

A poured concrete slab is the gold standard for carport foundations. Concrete delivers superior load-bearing strength, keeps posts level, and resists shifting in freeze-thaw conditions. While gravel, dirt, or permeable pavers cost less upfront, they can’t match concrete’s long-term stability, especially if you might convert the carport into a garage later. Investing in a slab now can save money and hassle down the road.

Pre-made kits start at $300 and bundle all the required parts—sometimes installation, too—making them the most budget-friendly option. Custom carports cost more ($12 to $40 per square foot plus labor) but let you match the design, size, and finishes to your home.

If price and quick setup top your list, go with a kit. If you have a tricky layout or want a seamless aesthetic, investing in a custom build is worth the premium.
