"I Highly recommend A1 Garage Door Services and especially Josias Rivera. I called and made an appointment and Josias was prompt and right on time the next morning. I already knew my motor for my Large RV Garage Door was starting to go bad. Sometimes it would open, other times not. It also sounded like it was trying to give birth with all the straining it was going through! Well, Josias went to work and sure enough, after 8 years, the motor was about shot. I was the one who stated that I wanted a new motor. Also, the Rollers were plastic and were 2” Rollers. I had the Garage Door motor replaced with an updated one and 7” Rollers. Josias ensured the door hinges & Rollers were lubed up and in working order as well. The Garage Door performs flawlessly now and is so quiet that I can barely hear the door opening/closing. Josias was very professional and courteous and I will be using A1 and Josias to maintain my door yearly. Thank you Josias and A1 for taking care of my problem!"

"Saul did an amazing job on my garage floor. He worked with my schedule and was able to get everything completed in the time I needed it done. I’m so happy with how my garage looks. Plus, he had the best pricing for the same quality work that I found with other companies."

"I rarely hire a company that I look forward to rehiring, but this is the one. What can I say? Prompt, courteous, reasonable price, quality workmanship. Thank you Mizell Brothers for reminding me that there are still professionals out there."

"Rick was great to work with. Right from the start before he was hired, he started making cost saving suggestions to our plans. He worked with us to give us the garage we wanted. The house is 19 years old and has a stone exterior. When the garage was completed the house and garage looked new and as if they were built together. We are very satisfied with all the workers that worked on the project."

"Texas Tuff was very professional and did very clean work. They informed me how this process for Epoxy flooring is done and how it is done correctly. I did my investigation and can see the process Texas Tuff did was the correct process. I will definitely hire this company again when I do my back porch project. I selected what I think is the best company for the project. Great to work with and look forward to working with them again. The perfect company for the project."
Enclosing a carport essentially turns it into a garage. You’ll start by framing and finishing exterior walls, then add a garage door (averaging $1,200), windows, and wiring for lights or outlets.
Plan for site prep and, if needed, a thicker slab to handle the added weight. Once the walls are up, insulation, drywall, and exterior siding create a secure, weather-tight space that protects vehicles and gear year-round.
A well-built carport may not add a huge dollar figure to an appraisal, but it can boost buyer appeal. Covered parking protects vehicles and lawn equipment, sharpens curb appeal, and fills what might otherwise be an empty driveway space. If the carport matches your home’s style and stays in good repair, it can make the property more attractive and competitive when you decide to sell.
Most cities and counties require a building permit for a new carport. Fees range from $60 to $800, depending on local codes and the size of the structure. Getting the permit upfront ensures the carport meets zoning rules and HOA guidelines, protecting you from fines or expensive retrofits later. Check with your building department—or ask your contractor—before ordering materials or scheduling installation.
A poured concrete slab is the gold standard for carport foundations. Concrete delivers superior load-bearing strength, keeps posts level, and resists shifting in freeze-thaw conditions. While gravel, dirt, or permeable pavers cost less upfront, they can’t match concrete’s long-term stability, especially if you might convert the carport into a garage later. Investing in a slab now can save money and hassle down the road.
Pre-made kits start at $300 and bundle all the required parts—sometimes installation, too—making them the most budget-friendly option. Custom carports cost more ($12 to $40 per square foot plus labor) but let you match the design, size, and finishes to your home.
If price and quick setup top your list, go with a kit. If you have a tricky layout or want a seamless aesthetic, investing in a custom build is worth the premium.
