"They had a little trouble with the measurements of the original glass panel, but made every effort to get it corrected quickly."

"Michael, the salesman was very friendly and courteous and not pushy.  He did not put down their competitors and in fact had several nice things to saw about the three Penguin windows we had installed several years ago.  He was patient and answered all our questions and spent some extra time making sure the financing was properly worked out.  The company called a week in advance to let us know the windows and door were ready and to make an appointment for installation.  Four person work crew arrived promptly at the scheduled time and went right to work.  Prescott, who seemed to be in charge explained what they were planning to do that day.  The crew put down tarps covering any areas where they would be working.  Two of the crew worked on the doors and the other two on the front window.  By the time they left in the afternoon all three new doors were installed and the window was in place.  The next day Prescott and one worker returned and they put the finishing touches on the doors by installing the screens and re-keying the three locks so they would all work with the same key.  They finished the trim and shingle work on the outside of the house and the window and all the trim and patching on the inside.  Everything was cleaned up nicely.  All the workers were friendly and answered any questions we had.  The work was finished by mid-afternoon on the second day as promised.  The trim work was beautifully done and all the glass cleaned.
    Alas, the first time it rained  one of the side panels of the window leaked slightly.  The company responded immediately and Prescott returned to see if the leak was in the installation or the window unit.  He decided it was the window unit, so took some pictures and sent them to the manufacturer.  After several week, the company contacted us and sent out a specialist who determined where he thought water might be getting in and sealed the area.  He left his number so I could call him if the repair does not solve the problem.  I felt the response to the leak by the manufacturer was a bit slow, but other than that, we have not complaints.  The window looks beautiful and it's great having the side units that open to catch the breeze."

"Install was easy. Up front cost was pretty low with Angie's List coupon. Monthly price is a little high compared to competing companies. Response time with alarms is excellent. I was advised to use glass break alarms within 10 ft of my first floor windows, which we installed correctly. I asked prior to installation if having one in the kitchen would cause false alarms due to dishes clanging, etc. I was told the glass break alarms are configured to a precise frequency that alarms with breaking glass. So, not a "no", but not really an answer. Well, every time we cook dinner, wash dishes or empty the dish washer, the kitchen glass break alarm gives a warning which would sound the alarm if it was set. This has caused us a number of false alarms while we've been away due to shifting bowls or plates in our drying rack. For the first several we've had to pay our police department $120 to check the house, and I was only notified after the first alarm that there was a cheaper option for a security company to drive by to check for a break in."

"Very prompt (response w/in an hour) when trying to schedule an appointment. Then zero communication. No confirmation for the appointment so thank goodness I stayed home that day b/c they showed up. When asked about how to maintain our new grout with a daily or post shower cleaner, there were no recommendations they could provide. No cleaning requirements besides seal every year & clean with product once a year. Post inspection noticed some bad work under the mirror & wanted clarification on the process. Took pictures & sent to them via Angie's List messenger asking about the inconsistent work & mess. Wanted them to come back to correct, refund part of the amount paid if we have to clean up/finish the job & spend more money to do so. Funny never heard back & its been a couple of weeks."

"We had a door with a broken window, given that this was a security issue we wanted to get the work done quickly. Because the door had never closed extremely well, and it was a door to the basement which we didn't really want to a have a window, we decided to replace the door, instead of just the glass. We got quotes from a few companies, all of which were pretty similar, and all of which recommended we replace the frame as well as the door in order to get a good fit. Ethos' bid was competitive and they were able to get the job done much sooner than any of the others, in just under a week from the time we had them give us an estimate. Bill, the owner of the company, came out to due the estimate, he was on time and very professional. He listened to what we wanted and explained the work that would need to be done. The door had to be ordered but as soon as it came in he called and scheduled the work for the next day. The workman (Ken) came out to install the door, he too was quite professional. Unfortunately the work turned out to be a little more difficult than expected, due to the poor installation of the previous door. Ken took the time to show me the issue and explain the extra work he would need to do. In the end the door fit extremely well and despite the extra work required they honored their original estimate. When the job was complete Bill came back out to make sure everything was done to my satisfaction. The only issue was there was a small hole that didn't get caulked which I didn't notice until several days later. It was very minor so I fixed it myself rather than asking Ethos to come back out to do it. Overall I'm very happy with the work, and I really appreciate the responsiveness and professionalism of Bill and his staff."

"The folks at South Sound Shower Door are very professional. Kevin quoted us a great price and set up the install for our shower doors on June 12. We asked Kevin advise if they have any last minute cancellations. They called 2 days later and offered us May 31. They just finished the install and did a beautiful job. They were prompt, friendly, professional, etc. They cleaned everything and went beyond what we expected. We highly recommend this company. FYI - We contacted Roxy Glass first and they quoted a very high price, higher than anyone I had spoken to. After we had hired South Sound - Roxy Glass called me and I told them we had hired someone else. After I told them that South Sound was much more reasonable the rep said "Too bad because we price match." I feel that's a real bad representation of Home Advisors. So they would charge a person $700 instead of the price South Sound would charge if the person weren't aware of price match (as we weren't)? That's no way to do business and I hope they disappear from your list. If it's available for the lower price, than that's the price they should be charging all Home Advisor clients."
