"After a heavy rainstorm, we would have a 3 foot diameter water puddle in the middle of a covered porch that is 60 foot long.  We assumed it was from the roof, and a different roofing company and a company sent by our insurance company had been out to investigate.  The other roofing company said we needed new shingles.  The  company sent by our insurance company checked for moisture content in the closest wall to the water puddle on the porch and did not detect any, and checked for water traces in the attic and said the water was not coming from the roof, though they could not say how the water got there.  They suggested it may be blown on the porch by the wind, which made no sense since the rest of the porch was not wet at all.  We spoke with our insurance agent again and he suggested calling Weatherproofing Experts.

Weatherproofing Experts came out and checked the roof and the attic, and the siding and the J channels that support the siding.  They duplicated the problem by pulling out the J channel on the exposed side of the porch out a little and poured water into it until the water puddle appeared in the middle of the porch. So then they knew how the water was getting onto the porch.  They cut a notch into the J channel on the exposed side of the porch where the water originated so it would not go into the back of the siding and travel down to the lowest J channel - instead it would go down the outside of the siding on the exposed side of the porch.  They also cut a notch in the bottom J channel directly below the notch cut in the top J channel just in case some water did travel down the back of the siding, so it would come out there instead of traveling down to the middle of the porch. 
We were impressed with their knowledge and ability to duplicate the problem and fix it relatively easily.  They did not look around and then suggest various possible causes, they immediately went to work and uncovered the true cause and fixed it.  They were here 1.5 to 2 hours, and the service call expense covered this initial appointment.  They did make a couple of suggestions for preventive maintenance on the roof where pipes come through it, and another suggestion to reduce the amount of water coming down the exposed side of the porch during heavy rainstorms.  We have scheduled an appointment with them to perform the preventive maintenance they suggested.
We are very happy that the problem has been fixed and we don't have to worry about water coming down the interior wall as we feared was happening.  As it turns out, the water was not doing that, though that is what we thought.  And as noted above, we were impressed with the way they approached and solved the problem. They said we still had 1/2 of the life of our shingles left, and since they do re-roofing we will contact them when that work is needed, and with any other roofing or leak problem.

"Eugene Handyman LLC was great. Drained water heater, scoped and said water heater was well serviced in the past, and should provide full service. A. If CHW had only found Eugene 2 months earlier when Claim initiated instead of wasting time with the 1st 2 no-show technicians, B. offers for me to find and pay for service on my own. The requirements to take pictures and submit detailed descriptions of work estimated to get approved before getting okay to start. C. The 5 contacted refused to do that. D. The result of this terrible service by CHW was the cancellation entirely of our Georgia home 6 year policy and decrease the Oregon 6 year policy to only one year. E.
