"Chris was quick to respond to our request for a quote for a new furnace. We had requested quotes from several other companies and most didn't respond, call back or show up when they said they would. He was very friendly & knowledgeable. He sent us a quote the same day. We are very happy with our choice to have CMA Heating & Air install our new furnace. We would highly recommend him!"

"MTS was quick to respond to our call and evaluate our system. While they found nothing that required repair right now, they did help us understand the timeline for potentially replacing our system. My only disappointment is that I haven't received the replacement quote they said they would provide."

"Peter and his crew did a great job! Not only was he the lowest bidder (by a lot), but he got the job done quickly and on time. Peter is very cordial and knowledgeable about furnaces. If you hire him, you won’t be disappointed."

"Hiring Williams & Assoc. has turned out to be one of the best decisions Iâ ve ever made! From the very start, this experience was excellent! Bruce and his team were professional, kind, and helpful when describing the system we purchased and answering the hundred questions we had along the way. Their attention to detail and all of the little extras one wouldnâ t even expect to receive were provided as if it were second nature to them. And the team worked tirelessly, without stopping until the job was finished. We were happy to have them in our home. These are genuinely good people. Our old boiler was past the point of being dangerous. Smoke filled the basement every time it came on. Anyone could see that we were in an emergency position and had no choice but to replace the old system. Some companies Iâ ve dealt with in the past would have taken advantage of our situation. But not Williams! The price for our new high efficiency heating system was very â veryâ reasonable. Due to our situation, the work was started and completed almost immediately and the service was excellent! My wife and I highly recommend Williams & Associates."

"I can't say enough good things about Fellowship Plumbing & Mechanical. Kyle and his team went about and beyond to help me when I had no heat. My system wasn't enough to heat my whole house, and Kyle gave me different suggestions keeping in mind what I could afford. His whole team bent over and backwards to accommodate my family. I just have to say when I called in and spoke to Cheryl she put me at ease immediately. Don't hesitate to call them for whatever you need!"

"I was given an accurate estimate with three options within days of calling and their visit; the work was done in a timely manner by a conscientious, professional team. The AC system they installed has been working extremely well ever since. I would call on them again and would recommend them to family and friends!"

"I am super happy with Drivers. After a bit of rescheduling (totally understandable during this cold winter) they serviced my boiler and my heat has been perfect ever since. They cleaned out a system that probably hadn't been cleaned in 5+ years (it was disgusting in there) and now everything works better than it ever has since I moved in. I used to wake up freezing in the middle of the night and now I haven't even thought about the heat in a week, everything is working perfect now. Will have them come every year to do routine service."

"Ryan did a great job. Showed up when he said he would, took great care in cleaning up after installing the bathroom ceiling exhaust fan I had purchased. If I need any additional electrical work, I will be calling Ryan."

FAQs for furnace / forced air heating system install or replace projects in Greenville, RI

Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.

Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.

With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.

The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.

Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.

An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.

An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
