"Did a great job, I talked to 3 different contractors, glad I did Chuck educated me every step of the way. Secco Home services ripped me off for $800 to diagnose and charge my system then came back with a equipment quote that would have been wrong for the situation. Avoid Secco at all cost. Call Total Heating and Cooling!!"

"I can't recommend Air Adviser and Joshua enough! Choose them for ANY and ALL of your HVAC issues. Here's why: Responsiveness & Punctuality Joshua was extremely responsive - he immediately replied to my request and had me setup for an appointment quickly. He confirmed the request via text and I was also alerted about his confirmation of arrival time in advance - which was exactly on schedule. Work Quality This is where Joshua saved us thousands of dollars! I had another HVAC company, Horizon, come in and investigate an issue with our furnace. The furnace was making an odd noise and not pushing out heat. Horizon sent someone out, charged me $120 for a tune-up, then told me that the furnace was originally installed improperly 10+ years ago, and that, as a result, all of the parts were breaking down and we'd need to purchase and put in a new furnace. (Not what I was expecting!) Less than 24 hours later, Horizon sent a sales rep to follow-up. He then described how the whole system was pretty much shot (it still looks very clean and new), we'd need a new furnace, new ducts, and a new AC. He was going to charge us $16k! Luckily, Joshua came a couple of hours later. He looked at the furnace and, after running a couple of tests, told me it was in good condition. He then investigated the noise and realized that because of the previous windy day, the noise made by the machine was due to the exhaust vent pulling in air, which was causing the motor to work extra hard. He showed me the issue outside, pulled up the weather forecast to confirm direction of wind, and then a compass to show that the wind was blowing directly at the vent. (It was like watching Sherlock Holmes!) The fix? A $5 PVC attachment to the outside vent. So instead of paying $16k for an overblown upsell, I was able to pay Joshua $49 for peace of mind and a life-long trustable HVAC contact. Cost & Value Again, Joshua had the lowest charge for a visit and provided great insight into the ACTUAL problem. He also clued me in to the fact that the other company is known for its ridiculous upcharges and aggressive selling. I highly recommend Joshua and Air Adviser. He's punctual, kind, intelligent, and honest. You can't find anyone better."

"They do the checks for free. Mostly safety checks. Making sure there's no leaks anywhere. They do really well. They are punctual and show up on time. If they say they will be there at a certain time, they are there."

"We recently had AJ Window & Door install the Owens Corning Duration roofing system. It is beautiful. The staff, including the installation crew, were both professional and easy to work with. The installation went smoothly and the clean-up was done impeccably. I would highly recommend both this product and this contractor. L.M., Denver, PA"

"I received a call from WL (Wade Long) within 10 seconds of pushing the submit button. I was floored. He ended up having the best price and came out the next day to put in my hot water heater. He was done quickly and also unclogged a sink drain in less than 5 minutes. I asked for a price on a new heat pump while he was here. He gave me the specs I would need in order to qualify for the tax credit."

"The service was fast, I have an ac system that was separated front he heat pump system and they explained how it works. I am very happy with it. They were professional and on time, he actually called me 10 mins before he came and let me know who he is so I thought that was cool. They were very responsive as well."
Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.
Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.
With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.
The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.
Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.
An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.
An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
