"Did a great job, I talked to 3 different contractors, glad I did Chuck educated me every step of the way. Secco Home services ripped me off for $800 to diagnose and charge my system then came back with a equipment quote that would have been wrong for the situation. Avoid Secco at all cost. Call Total Heating and Cooling!!"

"Rey was very thorough. He explained what was wrong with my system and why the part he replaced needed to be. He didn't try to sell me anything that I didn't want or need and I didn't feel like I was a dollar sign."

"We had a problem with our furnace (long startup time and weird smell), and used Home Advisor to look for some help. We we sent to Air Advisor, and, all I can say is, this was the best HVAC professional we could have been sent. Josh was professional and listened to the problem. It was a quarter to 5 in the evening and he was out by 5:30 to see what the problem was. He ran some tests, which initially showed no major issues (a clogged port). He checked one more part in the furnace that he said normally went bad with the manufacturer of our furnace, and ultimately determined that we needed a new unit ASAP. He was out early the next day, and by the end of the day, we had a highly efficient furnace. He broke down and explained how inefficient out old system was compared to the new one, and, when he tested the system, all I could say was WOW! I had parts of my house warm that used to need a space heater to help warm. He also laid his own protective covering over our floors and cleaned up after himself. He is courteous, professional. His prices are very fair, and he offers a lifetime workmanship warranty. I couldn't recommend Air Adviser enough!!!!!!"

"I?ve had them since I moved in here for my air conditioning and heating system. I?ve been here for 2 ? years. The only problem was them diagnosing the exact problem, it took them 4 or 5 times that they came out before they figured out what was wrong. I have a contract with them, so it basically didn?t cost me anything even if they came 10 times. They came right away and they were concerned about trying to figure out what was wrong. It was an intermittent problem, so that was the reason they couldn?t figure it out completely. With the service contract, it didn?t really cost me anything more."

"They completed the job ahead of schedule. Their expert installers were there early, extremely pleasant, worked tirelessly and cleaned up the property when the job was completed. I would absolutely recommend and hire this company again to do other projects in my home. There were no surprises or unexpected costs associated with the project. Extremely satisfied customer."

"We own a home-based business which relies heavily on our computers operating efficiently. We have had a service contract with another computer repair business for several years. Recently when we were having problems with our computers, we tried contacting our service contractor multiple times. He never responded. Feeling frustrated, I contacted James at North Alabama Technical Services and explained our situation. He instantly came to our rescue. He "cleaned-up" our computers and took care of all the problems we were experiencing. He went above and beyond to help us in our dire time of need. We would strongly recommend James and his company for computer service needs. We have now retained him on a service contract and are looking forward to working with him in the future."

"Chris and his crew were excellent. The extent of Chris' knowledge was quite impressive. He made me feel like I was finally in good hands by showing and thoroughly discussing everything he found. During his inspection he checked every possible issue that could be causing the problems. He explained the repair processes necessary and showed me as he was doing them. They were courteous and cleaned up, leaving my property cleaner than when they arrived. They were very polite and more than willing to do whatever was necessary to help me complete the project as I wanted. I can not thank Chris and his team enough and would absolutely recommend their services."

Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.
Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.
With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.
The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.
Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.
An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.
An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
