"Mark and his guys helped us install a new AC last summer. They arrived on time and did a great job! So when I was looking for someone to do the maintenance of our furnace, I called them. Todd went above and beyond my expectations. He finished the job and even helped fix my hinge. Both Mark and Todd strike me as very genuine people. And I would definitely hire them again!"

"Our Greenwood Technician, Sam, really provides us assurance that our gas furnace is still functioning adequately, but detailed why it may be time to consider replacing our aging water heater and furnace water pump system before likely damage occurs. Sam is a most genuine and reassuring professional - He helps us know just what may need maintenance and what is still sound. It is a joy to work with a trustworthy and competent professional"

"The guy that came out was awesome. Honest, polite, and hard working. He showed up on time, did the work, kept up informed the whole way through, and restored our confidence. We had another company out prior for the same service but the person didn't even start, rather just wanted to scare is into getting a whole new heat pump and furnace, saying it was on the brink of failure with an estimate between $12K-$20K. We said we wanted a 2nd opinion and thank goodness we did. Day and Nite acknowledged that our system was at 14-15 years, but saw no need to replace. We will call Day and Nite for our next maintenance for sure!"

"From start, meeting with the sales technician (Matt) who was willing to meet with us twice, never tried to "sell" us on it, to installation (we are fortunate to live 5 minutes from the office) which took Andrew and crew one day, to finish total clean up and to the tutorial making sure we received a thorough explanation of the new system, this was a breeze of a process and all the seatown staff from the techs to the office support were very professional and helpful. Now we have a new furnace, heat pump and thermostat that will work together to keep our home comfy. Plus we got a filtration system that eliminates dust in the air and other pollutants making the air in air house more healthy to breathe. Our first experience with Seatown was service of our gas fireplace. It had gone out over the summer and I wasn't sure how to get it re-lit. I asked them to come to assess our situation to see if a heat pump would work in our house and even though they don't do gas fire places, they were willing to figure it out and it was lit."

"I bought my furnace through them about a year ago. I scheduled my one-year service and they were here the next day. Chase and Josh where my technicians. They were very professional, thorough considerate, and fun to work with. I hope to get them back when I have my hot water heater replaced."

"Ryan answered promptly to my quote request. He came on time as he told. Provide us with an estimate in a timely matter. He performed a quality job replacing our water heater and furnace vents that weren't the right ones. He cleaned after himself and even turn on my water heater. Thank you Ryan. I definitively will recommend him."

"We had Hunt’s out to service our heat pump and furnace. Emily did a great job. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient with getting the work done. I also appreciated that they were able to come out next day after I called, and communication was great leading up to Emily’s arrival."

Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.
Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.
With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.
The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.
Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.
An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.
An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
