"Perfectly! Bill and his associate arrived when they said they would, diagnosed the problem, left to pick up the required part, and returned with the part and installed it, all without a hitch. I particularly liked the way Bill checked to be sure all the functions of the furnace and air conditioner were working before he finished. This is a top-notch service company!"

"Top energy solutions did a highly professional and skilled job in installing two furnaces and two air conditioners and also remove and install new attic insulation in my home. One furnace was gas and one was heat pump electric. If the installers were supposed to be on the job at 8:00am they were here. The installers were highly skilled and cleaned up at the end of each day. One furnace was gas and one was heat pump electric. If the installers were supposed to be on the job at 8:00am they were here. The installers were highly skilled and cleaned up at the end of each day. Leor was constantly on site supervising the project from beginning to end. Every aspect of the job (planning, designing, installation, etc.) was done at a highly ethical, professional and skilled level. Based on my husbandâ  s and my experience, Top Energy Solutions deserves the highest rating possible and we highly recommend the company for heating and cooling solutions. We will not hesitate to use them again for other properties."

"Total Home Environmental HVAC repaired my 1994 furnace. Although the furnace was not technically supported by the manufacturer, the service technician researched the unit on-line, sourced the parts and repaired the unit as promised. I am very pleased with the results and also with the lifetime warranty."

"This company and Pete specifically is outstanding. I was able to get a same day appointment and my elderly mother s furnace was fixed at a very reasonable price. We were told by the Gas Co and another contractor that it needed to be replaced. Turns out it was getting no electricity so Pete reset electrical breaker then did some minor repairs and got it going. Others told us to hire an electrician and walked away. Would definitely recommend this firm. In my opinion Pete went the extra mile to get the job done. Thank you!!"

"Paul came to my home on the hottest days of the year even though he was extremely busy! Even though it was so late for him after a long day of service calls, he made the time to come by and fixed us from the miserable heat! Despite that, Paul was so professional and kind! He definitely goes above and beyond beyond!"

FAQs for furnace / forced air heating system install or replace projects in La Palma, CA

Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.

Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.

With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.

The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.

Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.

An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.

An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
