"We feel fortunate to have found Pacific Heating and Cooling, they've been servicing our furnace for years. We always ask for Nathan, he knows our system, he likes our dogs and he is always up front about what if anything we need to keep an eye on and what the cost will be when it does come time to take care of it. We have had other technicians come out, they were fine also but Nathan we just really like. We always feel we can trust the work that has been done."

"My complaints are: 1. He was allotted too much time and had no where to go (I guess) so stayed and talked and talked. I on the other hand had an appointment so was getting concerned about the time.
2. Since the thermostat matter only took a few minutes, I asked him to check the furnace and air conditioner for me. He did so but it was in such a perfunctory manner, as to not be of any value. He was done in seconds.
3. He was very nice in that he tried to explain the necessary steps for settings on the thermostat (it is far more detailed then necessary for my lifestyle) but then repeated it over and over again. Adding new facts, leaving out others. By the time he left, I had lost the jest of what he had said. Once good demonstration would have done it.
4. The most annoying of all was the way he tried to sell me their Service Plan. When he first started his spiel, I told him in no uncertain terms that I do not buy those, never have, never well. That did not seem to stop the sales pitch. It continued onward. Finally, it seemed to come to an end, only to reemerge later on. I know they make commissions off these plans but don't believe that a visit that I am paying for, should include being pounded about something that will generate more income to them.

"I had Bill come out to tune up my oil furnace, when I left my home the heat was running when I returned it wasn't. I tried starting it and smoke filled my garage, I freaked out and called Bill, he returned the next day and started it for me .. it has been working since. The fact that he calmed me down, and returned made me a new client forever .. thank you Bill"

Small jobs welcome

"Post Results is fantastic! They arrived for the estimate and the job on time, actually early. They did exactly what they said they were going to do in the estimated time for the amount of the written estimate, they even found that my cold air intake for my furnace wasn't connected so they fixed that while they were up in my attic. I Highly recommend Post Results!"

"The system has not yet been brought on line. Therefore the results remain unknown. Also, it was not made clear to me that installation of this system would not lead to the now non functioning Kadet baseboard heater being removed or even disabled.I will hire a handyman to complete this portion of the project."

FAQs for furnace / forced air heating system install or replace projects in Mckenna, WA

Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.

Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.

With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.

The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.

Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.

An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.

An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
