"The Temperature Pro team reviewed an issue we were having with air flow in our 2-story home. They suggested zoning that would separate the lower and upper floors so that they would operate on independent thermostats. They split out the duct work and installed a unit to control the air flow based on which thermostat was calling for heat or A/C. The cost was very reasonable, the technicians were top notch, and the work areas were left cleaner than when they arrived. The technicians explained in detail how the system worked and what to do should we experience unexpected air flow issues. The system they installed works flawlessly and both floors now can be kept at a comfortable temperature. I have recommended Temperature Pro to many people including my elderly parents who they have treated with the utmost respect."

"When my air conditioner first went out they where able to make it out on the same day to check it out. Once I decided to go ahead and replace the furnace and A/C unit they where out and had it installed within a couple days. The service was great and the price was unbeatable. I recommend Premier heat and cool to everyone I know."

"Bottom line was I needed a very competitive price and B & B Heating and Cooling did it for me. We needed two furnaces installed in the same location and wanted a break, no one could beat B & B. He cut his labor and he gave an additional discount. The inspector said they did a wonderful job."

"What started as a service call for my furnace that wouldn't start evolved into a full system replacement. Techs Paul & Dallen arrived within a few hours of my initial contact, and had restored heat within a couple more hours. Due to the age of my system and other developing problems they detected, they recommended meeting with their Home Comfort Advisor for an estimate. That appointment was made on the spot and Duncan came next day. If I have a word of caution, it would be that this IS a proficient salesman. He examined the system and home, discussed options and had me signed up and financed within 3 hours. The Grapids team arrived next morning to install furnace, AC and water heater. All was done in a day, and is working great so far. Other reviewers have called them "pushy;" I'd call them a local company doing their best to survive during trying times."

"My house is an early 1900's home. Since moving in some years back we never have had the air ducts cleaned. We contacted Michigan Home Comfort in Lansing Mi and the process from start to finish was very easy. They sent in a three man crew to do the job, it was very extensive work. They were well dressed, nice and professional throughout. They spent about three hours here at my home and they showed me before and after pictures. The air quality in our home is much better now and less dusty to say the least. I would recommend them for sure to anyone."

"Prompt, very friendly, They knew the equipment very well. Did the job faster than told when they started, and they needed to run 3 new heat air runs ! Very profesional work ( I work in maintenance and know a quality job) They cleaned up after themselves, removed old unit and took it with them. I could not be more happy with the job they done. If I every need servicing of the furnace in the years to come, I would spend the exta cost of travel to have those guys fix the furnace. And no I never met the person before they installed the furnace. Very content Don S."

FAQs for furnace / forced air heating system install or replace projects in Moline, MI

Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.

Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.

With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.

The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.

Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.

An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.

An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
