"Let me tell you about Glaze Heating and Air - these guys are lifesavers! When lightning zapped my furnace, I was pretty much in a bind. I called Glaze, and boom, they had a tech at my door in just a few hours. Talk about fast! But wait, it gets better. A couple of days later, my furnace decided to act up again. I was thinking, "Oh no, not again," but Glaze had my back. They sent out another tech super quick, and guess what? No charge for the follow-up. How cool is that? The techs from Glaze arenâ t just good at what they do; theyâ re also super friendly and really know their stuff. Itâ s like calling up a buddy who just happens to be an expert in heating and air. So, if you ever need help with your furnace or AC, Glaze Heating and Air is the way to go. Quick service, friendly faces, and they really care about getting the job done right. "The furnace blower motor at my fiancee's parents' house went out recently. Another servicer in Baton Rouge had quoted $2400 to fix it (with 2-4 days for the part to arrive). Air Creation was able to fix it the same day for $1075. Judah and Anthony were very easy to work with as we coordinated the repairs remotely from San Francisco. And they were proactive about handling the repair with COVID-19 precautions in place--something we were concerned about with my future in-laws being in their 80s. Friendly, competent, and cost-effective--if we need HVAC services again, we will definitely be calling them first."

"I call Mr. Marvin for a leak in my ceiling which I thought was coming from my a/c unit in the attic. He showed up on time was very knowledgeable and professional he diagnose the problem give me my options and continue to evaluate my a/c system. He told me some things I could do to get better efficiency out of my system. Mr. Marvin was suppose to come back the next to finish the work on the problem after he got the right part to fix the problem. He got home found the part and came back and fix my problem. I will longer be using Home Adviser for Air and Heating problems or Air Duct because Mr. Marvin will be serving my family and I from now on. Thanks for the great service Mr. Marvin."

"I can t recommend Guss Heating and Air highly enough. Professional, prompt, and trustworthy. I need to address some inspection issues before selling my condo. Mr Guss promptly contacted me and arrange my service. He went through the entire inspection and addressed what actually NEEDED addressing. The service, parts, and labor fee was very reasonable. His integrity impressed me the most. In the age of the up sale , I found Mr. Guss approach refreshing. He could have told me I needed new parts or a new air conditioner and I would have been none the wiser. A big thank you and job well done Desmond Guss"

"I’ve had a few technicians come out to look at my AC unit. None of them were able to figure out what was wrong with it and it was super frustrating. The guys from Wilkerson A/C solutions were able to figure it out and fixed it within the day. I’m so happy now considering that summer is just a couple of months away!!"

FAQs for furnace / forced air heating system install or replace projects in Prairieville, LA

Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.

Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.

With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.

The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.

Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.

An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.

An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
