"I'd like to take a moment to share with you my experience with Air Care Heating and Cooling who recently installed a new heating furnace replacing our original heater from 1976. After interviewing four reputable local companies in San Diego I chose aircraft based on excellent reviews on Google and Angie's list. Mr Michael Santana (Owner and founder) offered very affordable pricing compared to others not forsaking the quality of/ furnace unit, warranty and exemplary customer care /service. The installation process was flawless. "⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceptional Service from Airtime Plumbing, Heating, & Air! I cannot recommend Airtime Plumbing, Heating, & Air highly enough! From the initial service call to the completion of the job, my experience was absolutely five-star. We had an urgent issue with our furnace acting up just as the cold weather hit, and they responded with incredible speed and professionalism. The technician David arrived promptly, was extremely courteous, and clearly explained what was wrong with our unit. He didn't just fix the problem; he took the time to show me what maintenance steps I could take to keep the system running efficiently. What Made Them Stand Out: Punctuality & Communication: They called ahead, arrived exactly when they said they would, and kept me informed throughout the process. Expert Knowledge: The diagnosis was fast and accurate. They fixed the problem right the first time. Fair Pricing: The final cost was competitive and exactly what was quoted, with no hidden fees or upselling. Cle"

"First we called the company we had delt with in the past, that got us no where. So we went to Angie’s List and found Carini. One of us has Lupus and get very sick from extreme heat like we have had recently. It was the same day as the West Fire in Alpine. Omar came out the next morning and gave us two options he could do right away, we made our choice and he did just that, got to work. Omar was very polite and showed concern for our situation. We will definitely use Carini and Omar in the future."

"This company is great. We were lucky enough to get Sean as our representative. We interviewed 4 companies and Sean was by far the most knowledgeable, friendly and professional. He gave us information and tips the other reps never mentioned-info the other reps missed that were unique to our home. The day of the work, Sean was there leading his men and ensuring all went well. They kept the home clean and it has made a huge difference already. Today is warm and it feels comfortable in my living area whuch used to be the hottest in the house. I also feel the air is cleaner and safer with the ducts sealed. Thanks, Sean and your company for all you have done for us. Good price, too!"

Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.
Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.
With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.
The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.
Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.
An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.
An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
