"We had Alan do two small appliance replacements. He is a very personable man and a talented, hardworking person. He recommended some valuable safety changes and did not charge additional fees even though I thought one of our jobs was a good deal more challenging than what would be the same job in other homes. This young man has a great work ethic, is a great communicator (my 86 year old do-it-yourself Dad liked him), and is just a real stand up guy."

"Excellent service from beginning to end. I first called to request the service, I could not speak with any members, but they promptly returned my call, understood the request and made an appointment. The day of service, the technician arrived on time and explained the work to be done and eventually his findings. He was very polite, professional and knowledgeable. He also gave us tips on how to better maintain the system for improved performance. Overall, excellent service. We highly recommend then and we will definitely use them again"

"Dustbusters did an exceptional job. We had all vents and ducts cleaned, including dryer and bathroom vents. The techniques used were latest technology; the technicians were skilled and helpful. Process was completed in an efficient and super clean manner. Before and after photos from inside ducts demonstrated the "like new" result. If you have any concerns about your forced air system, give them a call. The air quality of your home will improve. We noticed a difference in both dust and breathing within one day. This service is first class in all respects. We will have them back in the future. We got a 10% veterans discount."

"We call them and they are always right here. They always give you a coupon when you pay. They are very good to do business with. They are here next day. They are always here right on time. They are the lowest per gallon in the area, as far as I know. We were with another company and their prices were exorbitant. We gave the other propane company’s tanks back to them; we went out and bought our own tanks, installed them, had our fire department come over and certify them. With us owning our own, all we had to do was give them a copy of fire certificate that they are all checked out and good. We get the lowest deal on propane ever, from them. They are excellent. We are not even looking to go to another place. The price is the reason we are with them because my wife and I do look at the prices of propane and we actually even made a couple of calls and we couldn’t beat their price. They come when they tell you they are going to come; they are perfect. If we are not here, he just leaves the coupon on the breeze way door and we either drop it off or put it in the mail the next day. They always give you a coupon for your next delivery as long as you pay them properly and we always do. So they are always willing to give you discounts. They are very nice; they are very good on the phone and very professional."

FAQs for furnace / forced air heating system install or replace projects in Sandisfield, MA

Converting from an oil furnace to an electric furnace isn't a simple swap—the oil system needs to be completely removed before installing the electric furnace. You'll need a full electric system installation, but you might be able to reuse existing ductwork if it's up to current safety standards. You’ll need to budget for a new electric furnace installation, which costs between $1,800 and $6,200, including professional removal, proper disposal, and safe installation of the new system.

Electric furnaces are 100% efficient at converting electricity into heat. However, some of that heat can be lost as it travels through your home's ductwork or escapes through poorly insulated areas. That's why regular duct maintenance and proper home insulation are important to maximize your furnace's efficiency and reduce heat loss, ensuring consistent warmth and lower energy costs.

With proper maintenance, an electric furnace can last anywhere from 20 to 30 years, outlasting the average gas furnace's lifespan of 15 to 20 years. To keep your electric furnace running efficiently, schedule regular cleanings, tighten connections, and have inspections done before winter arrives. With routine maintenance, you’ll ensure consistent, safe heating for years to come.

The size of the electric furnace you need depends on factors like your home's square footage, climate, and insulation quality. As a general guideline, those who live in warmer climates should multiply their square footage by 30 to 35 BTUs, while those in cooler areas should multiply it by 50 to 60 BTUs.

Consulting with an HVAC professional can help you determine the exact size that's right for your home.

An electric furnace works by converting electricity into heat using high-resistance heating elements. A blower then pushes the warm air through your home's ductwork, distributing heat evenly throughout your space. Since there's no combustion involved, electric furnaces eliminate the risks associated with gas furnaces and provide consistent, reliable heating when properly installed.

An electric furnace uses between 40 and 80 kilowatts per day to heat your home. The exact amount it uses depends on factors like your home's size, insulation, and overall energy requirements. Larger homes or those with poor insulation use more energy than smaller, well-insulated spaces. A professional furnace assessment can help confirm the ideal unit size for your needs.
