"I'm a General Contractor (Jon Beer Contracting is my company) and recently worked with Corey and his team from Prestige Energy Solutions. We are doing a combination of a gut renovation and a new build on my own personal home that had a lot of tricky details and moving parts. From start to finish his team was professional, attentive, clean and skilled. I wouldn't hesitate to hire him for our future insulation needs."

"We have a building and it is so old that it never had insulation in the walls. The winters were very uncomfortable because of the cold that would come thru the walls. Sound from the apartment above carried like the person above was right next to you. I called Ecorite and made an appointment with Danielle to have an estimate. Uri was on time and took measurements then gave us a written estimate. Big wow for us since most of the time we are given a verbal one that keeps changing until a contract is written. We told Uri our issues and he made suggestions. He explained the products and how they use them. Closed and open cell materials and what walls they need to go on. Next was the actual installation. We had to make some changes and Danielle made sure the contract was updated and I approved the changes. She made sure everything ran smoothly. When the workers were on their way Danielle made sure I knew it. When the Kenneth and Lucas (the workers) arrived they were on time and greeted us then introduced themselves. They were friendly and pleasant and they made us feel comfortable with their knowledge of the product, and respectful of our home. They instructed us on how to reduce or eliminate any incontinence to the other tenants of the building. During the installation they worked non-stop, until they broke for lunch. After lunch break they were in a hurry to get back to work. There was no slowness here; if I had to use a word I would use quickÂÂ. After the job was done they cleaned up and took out the trash (which for us is a big thing). The entire job was a pleasant experience. I will be calling back for the next apartment. If not for Homeadvisor I would not have found such a good company. We are very happy."

"Being away from my home during most of the construction I was very pleased with how well Score Construction respected my place of residence. The quality of the work was superb. I would recommend to Score Construction to any of my friends and co-workers."

"They showed up exactly when they said they would. They were efficient, neat and made sure to send me pictures in the various stages of execution. And they cleaned up better than when they found the area. I would highly recommend them. I wish he did more than insulation because he would be my go-to guy for all house related needs."

Old insulation should be removed when it shows damage, contamination, or heavy deterioration. If you notice water stains, rodent droppings, mold, or large gaps, plan on taking it out to protect your home’s energy performance and indoor air quality. Removing compromised material eliminates health hazards, cuts energy loss, and sets the stage for a safer, more efficient attic—all while keeping utility bills in check.
R-value measures how well insulation resists heat flow—the higher the number, the better it slows heat transfer. The right R-value keeps your home warmer in winter and cooler in summer, saving energy year-round. Match the rating to your climate zone and have a pro verify performance over time, because moisture or settling can lower R-value and cut efficiency.
Attic insulation can stay in place for 80 to 100 years, but its performance often drops after the first 15. As dust, moisture, or mold build up, the material loses R-value and allows heat to escape. Schedule periodic inspections so a pro can tell you when replacement makes sense—helping you keep energy bills down and indoor comfort up.
You can over-insulate an attic. Beyond the recommended R-value, extra layers don’t add efficiency and can trap moisture, leading to mold or reduced performance. A local insulation pro can measure current levels, confirm the right target for your climate, and advise on any adjustments so you avoid future energy or maintenance headaches.
Insulation can be damaged by mold, pests, water leaks, or accidental electrical contact. When the material is compromised, it loses R-value and can introduce health hazards. Removing and replacing affected sections restores efficiency, while routine inspections from a qualified pro help you catch problems early and keep your attic safe and energy-smart.
