"Overall just an absolutely great experience. I had several areas and sections of my home that I had been planning to try and clean myself at some point because I am just stubborn in that way. Life kept getting in the way as it often does, so I reached out to Paradise Surfaces and now I’m very happy I did. Took care of all my needs and concerns and my home has never looked better. Just a very pleasant and professional experience all around."

Areas Of Expertise: CONSTRUCTION
"Excellent service! These guys were prompt in responding to our request for a quote on Monday, came out to assess the project Tuesday morning, and got the job completed Saturday. We needed the ceiling of our garage repaired after a section of it collapsed. They were professional, speedy, and reasonably priced. They even applied popcorn texture to match the rest of the ceiling, and draped all of the equipment and surfaces in the garage, leaving the garage as clean as they found it, plus they hauled away the ceiling that had fallen. Would recommend and hire again."

"Outstanding performance and price on our project. We had a 12 x 20 shed completely spray foam insulation so I could turn it into my she shed exercise room and April and the entire gang was very professional and clearly took pride in their workmanship. Areas Of Expertise: Home Energy Audits / Cut your Utility Bills 20% to 50%, Energy Savings Equipment & products, Insulation / Ultimate Blanket / Reflective Insulation
"The company was highly professional in all aspects of my dealings with them, from communications with the office staff to Gene Jr. and Gene Sr. when they arrived to do the work I needed done. Gene Jr. arrived the week before to access what my insulation needs were. The original insulation was for less than what I needed due to years of settling and compacting in areas and other areas that were deficient or missing altogether. Repairs to my roof and ceiling from damage sustained from Hurricane Michael were performed but there was some shoddy work done which resulted in insufficient, and in some areas missing insulation altogether. I have full confidence now since the new blown-in fiberglass insulation has been added, that I will have greater ability to maintain more comfortable temperatures within my home during extreme temperature variations through the seasons. I would highly recommend the company to anyone looking the add insulation to their home."

"I received a call from Prater,s after contacting Angi’s. He said he could come and look at the insulation project and give me an estimate. And since he had his worker with him, he would do the job today if I agreed with his estimate. He came by, looked at my attic, and gave me what I thought was a very fair price, so I said let’s do it. Within about an hour he completed the project! I am very pleased with the work of Prater’s Insulators and highly recommend them!"

Frequently Asked Questions
What is insulation?

What is insulation?
Insulation is material that provides a barrier within a home’s walls, ceilings, and floors to regulate temperature and noise. If your home gets overly hot in the summer and cold in the winter, it’s likely not insulated properly.
Insulation efficiency is measured by R-value, which determines how resistant different types of insulation are to heat flow (or energy loss). R-values are measured by inch of thickness. The higher the R-value, the better the performance and the higher the price.
How much does insulation cost?
+
How much does insulation cost?
Our project data lists insulation costs between $1,400 and $6,300, but your final price will depend on the type of insulation you choose, its R-value, and how much you need.
- Fiberglass insulation: $0.30 – $1.50
- Blown-in insulation: $1 – $2
- Spray foam insulation: $0.50 – $2
- Radiant insulation: $0.20 – $1
- Rigid board insulation: $0.25 – $1
Luckily, insulation is one of the best investments you can make in your home—it has an ROI of at least 100%, meaning you’ll likely make back what you spend in a few years or so.

What is insulation made of?
Insulation is made of many different materials, which can also impact the R-value needed for energy efficiency.
- Fiberglass: The most common insulation material made from glass. Fiberglass is a skin and lung irritant, so you’ll need to wear gloves and clothing when working with fiberglass insulation.
- Cellulose: Made from recycled paper products, plus borate for fire and insect resistance.
- Foam: Made from polystyrene, polyisocyanurate, or polyurethane plastic. You can also install cement-based foam insulation using rigid foam boards.
- Mineral wool: Made of fire-resistant rock wool, a mix of natural materials, or slag wool, made from a molten metal product.
- Natural fibers: Made from various recycled natural materials, including cotton, sheep’s wool, and straw.
Where is insulation in a house?
+
Where is insulation in a house?
If your attic is unfinished or you’ve ever demolished an interior wall, you might notice batt or spray foam insulation between the studs. Putting insulation between your walls and floors helps keep your home comfortable and your energy costs down. In addition to walls and attics, you can install insulation in your garage, in floors above vented crawl spaces, and basements.
- Garage Insulation: $0.50 to $1.25 per square foot
- Floor and crawl space insulation: $1 to $5 per square foot
- Basement insulation: $1.50 to $2.50 per square foot
- Wall insulation: $1 to $4 per square foot
- Attic insulation: $1,500 to $6,000
- Roof insulation: $1,500 to $4,500 or more
What are the different types of insulation?
+
What are the different types of insulation?
There are a few types of home insulation, and they all are made of different materials— most commonly, fiberglass, cellulose, and foam. Insulation includes these materials in the following forms:
- Loose-fill: Also called “blown-in,” loose-fill is sprayed into wall cavities, attics, and other oddly-shaped areas using special equipment. This insulation is usually made of fiberglass, cellulose, or mineral wool.
- Batts: An affordable insulation blanket best for unfinished spaces, such as between framing, studs, or joists. They come in pre-cut sections suitable for DIY installation and are mostly made from fiberglass, though other versions are also available.
- Rolls: Similar to batt insulation, but comes in rolls. Its make-up leaves less chance for gaps between sections and is more efficient than other types.
- Foam board: One of the most popular insulation types that can be used almost anywhere in your home. Foam boards also have a high R-value.
- Spray foam: Expands and hardens to fill gaps, small and large. Can be closed-cell or open-cell, but closed-cell has a higher R-value, making it more expensive per square foot.
- Radiant barriers: Does not reduce heat flow but directs heat away from the home instead. Radiant barriers are DIY-friendly and affordable, but they won’t be as effective in the winter months.
