Ted from Johnson’s worked with me to have my piano moved into their climate-controlled storage for a week during the installation. My house has a side entrance which made the move pretty challenging, but the excellent crews who moved the piano out and back in were very creative in accommodating the challenge with the front door and they took great care not to damage my railings on the stoop. "The actual movers were excellent. They were on time and pleasant. The guys managing the company (who were not on site for the move) changed the price after the work was done. The first guy I spoke to to set up the move quoted me one price and the guy I talked to on the day of my move upped the price. I had never signed a contract before hand eventhough he said I did. We finally came to an agreement on price that was reasonable but more than I was quoted. If I use them again, I will get the price in writing and have them sign it before any work is scheduled."

Moving in the middle of winter is not ideal; however, moving in below freezing temperatures with snow and ice on the ground is doubly difficult. "From first contact, Dan's Vans Moving did a great job! I was in contact with the owner immediately who listened to what I wanted moved and where. He got me scheduled on the day I requested (about a week out) and sent an electronic reminder of the appointment the day before. The truck and two guys showed up as scheduled, walked through to see what needed to be moved (I was taking things to 2 locations), loaded the truck so that the last location stuff went in first. They wrapped everything well to protect it and were careful not to damage the houses where the furniture was being delivered or removed. Very nice guys.
