He could have simply agreed with the other contractor and racked up more business for himself if he had wanted to do so; instead he didn’t charge me a cent for his time and effort although I would have been very happy to pay for the peace of mind he gave me. I called them to repair a small area of our tile roof and after removing some tiles and inspecting the tile underlayment in a limited area they provided a bid for both the repair work and a lift and replacement of a new two layers of underlayment. We elected to replace the underlayment on the entire roof as the existing paper is 30 years old as showed signs of cracking. The crew showed up each day at 8:00 am and before the end of the day swept the perimeter of the house and remove everything that may have fallen from the roof.
