"Bob and his team were amazing. We initially thought just a deck, but ended up wanting an enclosed area with side 1/2 walls and screened in. What Bob built was far past our expectations. The additional style and personal touched pulled everything together. We would highly recommend them."

Customers say: Super punctual
"Over the past 5 years, David Clough and his crew have done a number of projects for us at our Yarmouth home ranging from jobs both large and small and from fine cabinetry to straightforward buildouts and repairs. In every instance, we were entirely pleased with the results. Given that we consider ourselves to be rather particular about the condition of our home, this is saying something. Every stage of each project was done in a way that either met or exceeded our expectations. David came up with some creative solutions when we were unsure of the direction that we wanted to take. He was comfortable providing estimates for more than a single approach and each was clear and complete and, most importantly, accurate. There were no surprises. Despite the understandable demands on his time from other customers, David was honest about timeframes for each project and kept us apprised of any changes due to material availability and the like. In short, his communication with us was exemplary. When the job was underway, Daid and his crew took great care to keep the house in good condition and by minimizing disruption to us. When appropriate, the crew cleared and/or cleaned the workspace at the day's end. I recommend David and his crew without hesitation and without qualification. It has been a pleasure to work together with him to create the kind of home we love."

"I highly recommend Archadeck of Central Maine. The carpenter, Garret, except for a few hours on the first carpentry day and the entire last day, worked on this by himself. He did a phenomenal job! On the last day he was joined by Preston and he did a great job as well. This project had some unique elements. First, was the slope of the ground. Second, was the design. The lower deck was designed to hold a hot tub (not shown here) to be accessed from the upper deck in the area between the two railings. One whole side of the upper deck remained without a railing as I wanted deck access to be at any point along the footpath. It'll be my task to backfill the gap between the deck surface and the footpath. Total number of days worked on this project was six (6). TJ and Jessi are easy to work with and the cost was very reasonable. We are THRILLED with the results!!"

"What I found outstanding was the excellent communication from Greg about my project at all stages, from the first meeting, through the repair process, to the completion. I always knew what to expect from the day-to-day work and I felt he and I were on the same page. My facia board, gable board, removal of moss on my roof and door replacement was accomplished safely and thoughtfully by his competent crew. I would recommend this company to anyone as I feel they are very trustworthy, and I hope to use them again for my next project"

A treehouse stresses the tree, but proper design keeps that impact manageable. Start with a healthy species, use tree-attachment bolts instead of lag screws, and allow room for future growth. A qualified treehouse builder or arborist can assess load capacity, ensure safe fastening, and monitor the tree’s health after construction.
The time it takes to build a treehouse depends on its size and complexity, and whether you choose a prefab kit or a custom design. A straightforward child's prefab treehouse can be assembled in as little as two days to a week. More complex designs can take two to six weeks. Adding features like plumbing and electricity can add several days to the project timeline. Building a fully livable treehouse can take anywhere from several months to a year.
The best trees for constructing a treehouse are strong and healthy with a minimum diameter of 12 inches. Ideal choices include maple, oak, hemlock, and fir trees. If suitable trees aren't available, you can install additional support posts to reinforce the structure. Consulting with an arborist or local treehouse builder ensures your site is evaluated correctly and your treehouse is securely anchored.
A well-constructed treehouse can last anywhere from 10 to 25 years or more. The lifespan depends on the quality of the materials used and the extent to which they are maintained. Applying weatherproof treatments to the wood can help extend its lifespan. Keep in mind that treehouses in areas with harsh weather conditions may wear faster than those in milder climates.
Building a treehouse for year‑round living is entirely possible when you address both the technical challenges and the lifestyle benefits head‑on. This project requires a secure design that incorporates superior insulation, integrated plumbing, and robust electrical systems, while also creating a sustainable, minimalist, and eco-friendly retreat. To ensure comfort and safety, invest in enhanced structural supports and adhere to strict code-compliance measures. Professional consultation is essential to transform your treehouse into a secure, full-time living space that incorporates off-the-grid and environmentally conscious design.
Plumbing installation in a treehouse is challenging because it requires unique, engineered solutions for an off‑ground structure. This project requires custom-designed water distribution systems, reinforced connections, and specialized adjustments that exceed the standard requirements for home plumbing. In addition, implementing innovative solutions such as composting toilets, rainwater collection systems, and graywater sinks ensures safe operation, efficient drainage, and sustainable water usage. These measures, when combined with rigorous adherence to building codes, guarantee that your treehouse’s plumbing system operates securely and efficiently.
