"The job went well, very brief and surprisingly inexpensive. (I understand everyone has to live, so I expected to pay for a livelihood, but I was delighted to have my wallet only lightly crimped.) Bertie Walsh arrived around the agreed time.  I gave him the two grab bars the VA decided I needed in my bathing area, an old retired vet in a wheelchair, like me. I live alone, in a condo, so I needed a handyman to install them.
I'm glad I had a professional person install them because, even if I were fit, I surely would have botched the job. This place was cut up into condos in 1987. It used to be just a red brick factory-- originally constructed around the turn of the 20th century to work with Brockton by making those metal lacing eyelets for boots. They used metal--not plywood--when they cut the factory into apartments like mine (Bertie Walsh later explained to me). If I were doing the job myself I would have been expecting wooden studs behind the tile--which would have been full of exploratory holes when I got done.
So, I pointed to the bathroom, assured myself that Bertie Walsh had all he needed, and went to finish watching the program I had on, wondering what I had to offer Mr. Walsh when he broke for lunch soon. How pleased I was when that time arrived and he said the job was done and that I only owed him $50!
Bertie Walsh explained to me that the grab bars were firm, but that he had to install them in the metal. Should they loosen, over time, do not risk injury, by all means call him.

"The work was of the highest quality. All the old trim, clapboards that needed replacing and any other debris were removed daily from the site. The owner and crew explained to me what was happening and why. Our house is old, so there were unanticipated issues after the trim was removed. We received a thorough explanation about what additional work needed to be done. "Mr. Handyman replaced a door and its moulding/trim inside our home. The initial repair was mediocre but acceptable. Over time problems began to emerge with the moulding and threshold. Even though I didn't contact them about the problems until a year later, within a couple days they scheduled someone to redo the job at no charge to me and the final results were great. Even though the initial job wasn't done well, they took care of the problem with zero hassle. They made good on everything—and that's what counts. I'll definitely hire them again!"
