He would start the day out with directions for his crew and be there for the critical parts of the deck construction and did the most exacting work himself to ensure quality overall. The yard was left as neat as possible every evening. Early on in the project we discovered a major unanticipated drainage problem requiring more extensive reinforcement of the lower deck planters using keystone blocks.
