He not only took the time to do things right, he took the time to go over everything with us in detail. Bob replaced a handful of mahogany boards on our deck, installed two new light fixtures—bedroom and front porch— built a fence gate, repaired a broken stair baluster, installed a ceiling fan, replaced a rotted board on our shed, and gave us lots of advice and idea for future projects. "We hired Bertie Walsh to re-do our garage ceiling which had been incorrectly repaired by a different contractor (not a contractor found on Angie's List).  Bertie was a godsend because after he removed the ceiling he pointed out to us that the previous contractor had failed to connect the blue board to the joist (not sure if that's the right word) and there also wasn't any strapping holding it to the subsurface, which would have caused it to eventually bow out.  Bertie put a new section of ceiling up and finished it with plaster and did a remarkable job matching the existing ceiling.

Bertie is quiet and hard working.  No fluff with this guy.  He's an honest, no-nonsense guy who will give you a very reasonable quote, will show up when he says he will, and then quietly and diligently do the work.  He cleaned up well after the work was completed.  I found myself looking for other things that needed plastering or handiwork around the house just so we could hire him again.  Yep, he is that good!

"My house needed to be repaired from a huge fire. I was looking for a GC that has extensive knowledge of fire damage. After multiple quotes, I chose WS Builders because the owner was very professional and knew what he was talking about. Wladimir assisted me from beginning to end. We gutted the whole house and replace all the electricity. This was a big project and it was necessary to find a GC who had previous experience in rebuilding a house damaged by fire. They were careful in their work and the quality of their work is incredible. Orlando and Brian were especially kind in answering the many questions I had while the work was going on. "Carlos and his team did a great job. The house was first power washed and then prep began. There was carpentry work that needed to be done over a few days very professionally. There was extensive sanding and caulking of wood surfaces by several people. They applied a tinted oil primer stain and one coat latex solid stain to the walls which were sprayed on and back brushed. They protected our unusual lead windows by covering them in plastic. All trim, windows and corner boards received two coats of exterior latex paint. And some days there were more than 6 people on the job to make up for rain delays. Carpentry was priced separately at $2,590."
