"Semper Solaris Battery Installation Review I hired Semper Solaris to design and install a battery system tailored to my home?s needs, and I provided them with all necessary data upfront. Unfortunately, their proposed solution was not engineered appropriately and failed to meet expectations (I found out afterwards, since I am a Radio/Radar engineer, not a solar power engineer). The installation designers wanted to place the batteries in an unsuitable/ridiculous location and used a system that unnecessarily rewired my power panels, creating significant electrical complications. (As an electrical engineer, I recognized these choices as poor practice). After installation, I had to resolve account and software issues directly with Tesla, only to learn that the system had been improperly sized. Semper Solaris did not deliver the professional expertise I relied on."

"After getting bids from several other companies, I went with Independent Energy Solutions because they were by far the most professional company. Chris took the time to educate me on solar energy as well as to provide the most sensible design to give me the greatest amount of solar energy production for the available space and layout of my roof. Joseph, the crew foreman, was a delight to work with, and he was very responsive when problems came up. They thought of all the little details to make the installation aesthetically pleasing, like running the cable down along the back of the rain spout to hide it from view and painting it to match the stucco so that it virtually disappeared. Throughout the entire installation process, they went the extra mile, and they treated me as if I were a VIP.
Were there problems during the installation? Yes. The City Building Department lost my application, and then both their inspector and the inspector from SDG&E were annoyingly nitpicky. But IES handled all these problems with grace and elan.
Having my own solar panel system has caused me to look around the neighborhood to see what other solar installation contractors have done and there's all the difference in the world between what they've got and what I've got. "I 90% like them. They were very good all the way through the process. However, finding after a year of having the panels that I haven't produced enough electricity and the electric company is billing me a large sum of money for the difference. They are looking into it now but I don't know what the outcome is going to be. Other than that, they are a great company. I paid $30,000 for the panels and I get the tax credit this year. I never checked any other companies because I have trees out front on the south side and no other company would even put panels on my roof. This is the only company that told me they had a way of doing it, and they put the panels on the back of my roof, but still facing the south side. Since there is no other company that would do it, I have no comparison for the price. The quality of their work was great. They were all very good to work with. They should not have given me the expectations that they did. They said that their panels would take care of all the electric that I was using so outside I would be able to use my electric heat as well. It would produce enough and it obviously hasn't. They made a mistake on that. For the most part, I think that they didn't have my tree problem so it's a great company."

"We recently had Mega Power Electric Inc install a solar system and panels. The President and provided excellent communication all the way through the process. He even met with us after installation to explain the almost incomprehensible PG&E bill. Although not the least expensive bid, his was competitive and I felt he was as interested in educating me about solar and the various types of panels and inverter systems as he was in selling a system. He demonstrated how the array of panels would meet our energy needs and as opposed to some of the other companies, wasn't selling us more than we needed. We are very satisfied with our solar system and I highly recommended Mega Power Electric Inc."
