"We had 6 stumps to be ground--three of them extremely large, and one tree to be taken down. Terys and his crew came in and did the job in one afternoon, and did it well. They were courteous and extremely efficient. His lead man on stump grinding, Montague, was an expert with the grinding machine, and at the end of the job assured me that if after I dug through the sawdust and soil (I had it left to use as fill) and found any remaining stump that was too high he would return and make the job right. I have found none. The tree that the crew took down was right on the property line with my neighbor's very nice lawn and so I asked that they not fell the tree in the normal fashion and cut it up for removal, in order to insure my neighbor's lawn would be undamaged. They complied, taking the tree down from the top and no damage to his lawn was done. They then ground that stump as well. I highly recommend these folks, they will do the job right."

Palm tree removal expenses range from $150 to $1,500, with pricing primarily determined by the tree's height and accessibility. Removing taller specimens requires specialized equipment and safety protocols, pushing costs toward the upper end of this range. Stump grinding represents an additional expense of $175 to $550 if needed. Obtaining multiple removal estimates helps ensure competitive pricing for your specific situation.
Palm growth rates vary considerably by species, with most gaining approximately one to two feet annually under favorable conditions. You'll notice substantial development within three to five years after planting. Many varieties reach their characteristic appearance within seven to 10 years. The aesthetic enhancement to your property increases progressively as the palm matures, potentially adding considerable curb appeal and landscape value.
Several palm varieties demonstrate impressive cold tolerance for non-tropical environments. The needle palm ranks among the hardiest options, capable of surviving brief temperature drops to surprisingly low levels. Depending on size and availability, cold-resistant varieties cost between $100 and $300. Strategic placement in protected locations and appropriate winter protection measures significantly improve survival rates in challenging climates.
Professional palm trimming services cost between $100 and $1,500 per tree. This wide price range reflects variations in palm height, frond density, and access challenges. Taller specimens require specialized equipment and greater safety precautions, significantly increasing service costs. Most palm varieties benefit from annual or semi-annual maintenance to remove dead fronds and seed pods while maintaining an attractive appearance.
