"Did not recieve the estimate after the consultant arrived. When I called back received the estimate very quickly. However the estimate was over 20K for 15 plantation shutter windows which is about double any of the other estimates."

"This company is very busy due to their high rating on Angie's List. For this reason, and the fact we weren't in a hurry, made us willing to wait until they could come out and do the work. When Darryl came out to give us a quote, he could immediately see the problem with our leaky window, even though it is on the second floor. In addition, everyone else we contacted just wanted to put caulk around the window, and that did not fix the problem. The day they came out Darryl left the work to two of his workers, but they did a good job. The wood around the window that needed to be replaced was a curved piece, and they matched it up pretty well. The caulking was done around the back windows as we requested, and some caulking was done that Darryl believed would stop a leak we had in our siding. There was a little confusion over how I wanted the windows caulked, but Darryl agreed to do it my way. There was also confusion over the bill and how a coupon was applied, but I was satisfied with $25 off that was applied to my bill. I would suggest to Dadstasks that they provide more detailed information in the quote. I would definitely hire Dadstasks again!"

"The floors look great. They did not put back any of the floor grates/vent covers when they left, and since I was not there, I had to go searching for them and put them back myself, but that was no big deal."

"Amanda from Homemade design provided me with a variety of suggestions for couches, end-tables, lamps, window coverings, rugs, paints, accessories to match my style and color preferences for my living room. Amanda has better than great ideas and worked to stay within my budget. I also hired Amanda to design my kitchen, dining room, game room, and master bedroom and bath. Building and furnishing a house is a daunting task, and Amanda was a great help in putting it all together. I couldn't have done it without her. Well done Amanda! Would I recommend Amanda? Yes Yes Yes!!"

Custom window treatments cost $800 per window, ranging from $150 to $3,000 for materials alone, before labor is factored in. Blinds are the most economical option, while custom curtains and drapes are more expensive due to intricate designs and premium materials. The final cost depends on your style preferences, material quality, and the complexity of the installation.
Mini blinds are the most cost-effective window treatment available, providing efficient light control and exceptional value. They offer the lowest cost option at $600 per set and serve as a dependable solution for budget-conscious homeowners. Roller shades and valances offer cost savings by avoiding premium materials, ensuring that quality design and functional installations remain uncompromised.
Prices increase with larger windows, premium materials, and additional labor for complex installations. High-grade fabrics, hardwoods, intricate designs, and motorized hardware all contribute to the total cost. For instance, drapes run more than Roman shades because they use more fabric and detailing. Still, a well-chosen treatment pays you back in style, privacy, and insulation.
Layering treatments—say, a sheer shade paired with floor-length drapes—adds depth and polish to any room. Sticking to one color family keeps the look cohesive while mixing textures boosts dimension, sound absorption, and energy efficiency. You also gain flexible light control, shifting from full sun to total blackout without swapping hardware.
Energy-efficient window treatments lower energy costs by minimizing heat transfer through advanced fabric technology and design. They block excessive sunlight while maintaining a consistent indoor temperature, thereby reducing the demand on heating and cooling systems. They retain heat in winter and keep your home cool in summer, maintaining year-round comfort and producing measurable savings on electric bills through superior energy management.
Bay, picture, and dormer windows rarely pair well with shutters because their unique shapes demand more flexible coverings. For a cleaner fit and better performance, choose treatments tailored to those dimensions—think custom shades, drapes, or valances that accentuate the architecture instead of competing with it.
