"I called Mr. Riggs on Aug. 27, and he came by the day we called to give us an estimate, which we thought was very reasonable for the amount of branches we had cut down. He was going to try to come that Friday evening if he could, but did not make it because he was working on another job that ran long, which he had warned us about. We were not in a hurry, so that was fine. I called him the next week, and he apologized for taking so long, and showed up in the next couple of days. In all fairness, he also had to wait because it had been raining for several days and he could not have driven through my yard until it was dry. He and his crew loaded up our huge pile of limbs, and totally raked and cleaned up everything. He also gave us a very good estimate for cutting down and hauling off a couple of other trees we need to get down, and we will call him about those soon. He is a very nice man, very professional, and we will definitely use him again!

Palm tree removal expenses range from $150 to $1,500, with pricing primarily determined by the tree's height and accessibility. Removing taller specimens requires specialized equipment and safety protocols, pushing costs toward the upper end of this range. Stump grinding represents an additional expense of $175 to $550 if needed. Obtaining multiple removal estimates helps ensure competitive pricing for your specific situation.
Palm growth rates vary considerably by species, with most gaining approximately one to two feet annually under favorable conditions. You'll notice substantial development within three to five years after planting. Many varieties reach their characteristic appearance within seven to 10 years. The aesthetic enhancement to your property increases progressively as the palm matures, potentially adding considerable curb appeal and landscape value.
Several palm varieties demonstrate impressive cold tolerance for non-tropical environments. The needle palm ranks among the hardiest options, capable of surviving brief temperature drops to surprisingly low levels. Depending on size and availability, cold-resistant varieties cost between $100 and $300. Strategic placement in protected locations and appropriate winter protection measures significantly improve survival rates in challenging climates.
Professional palm trimming services cost between $100 and $1,500 per tree. This wide price range reflects variations in palm height, frond density, and access challenges. Taller specimens require specialized equipment and greater safety precautions, significantly increasing service costs. Most palm varieties benefit from annual or semi-annual maintenance to remove dead fronds and seed pods while maintaining an attractive appearance.
