"The first problem with a basement water issue is getting your arms around the magnitude of the problem and what it is going to take to correct it. I invited Neil from Neverwet Basement Waterproofing to asses the situation in my 60 year old ranch basement. I feel Neil gave me a fair, honest and trustworthy evaluation of the situation. After major consternation I decided there was no way around the problem, it needed to be fixed. I went for the full recommended solution: New complete indoor drain replacement, new sump pump, trench and waterproof of the exterior walls, add an interior white Dry Shield and install (4) glass block windows. This was a $16K project but we are now comfortable that we have gotten our money's worth. The work site leader, Kevin, is very competent and very easy to work with on a daily basis. My wife and I were constantly updated on a daily basis of what was going to be going on. I was home to watch the progress and constantly checked with Kevin on small details. I would suggest that I am a tough grader but Kevin resolved every little detail to my satisfaction. I can't say enough positive about the work crew either. They are very knowledgeable, conscientious, courteous and friendly. They worked very hard and also did a solid clean up job at the end of each day. Overall, this really isn't a project you want to run into. I had let the problem fester for several years but if for nothing else, do it for your personal health. If you are in this situation, I think that Neverwet is the team you want in your home. Modern day window contractors were not going to understand this job. It's very difficult to find a contractor that will come through on a promise and has the skill to do as they boast. The day that Grady stepped into my 90 year-old home that needed historic window restoration, he became a part of the house. He knew exactly what had to be done.
