"After receiving 3 quotes for replacing my deteriorating retaining wall, I chose J&R Chavez Landscaping. Positive reviews, the owner’s assessment, and a reasonable estimate convinced me. I accepted their bid on December 29, 2025. J&R submitted the permit request two days later. Unfortunately, the permit was approved on February 13, 2026, outside contractor control. Work began on February 16, with a good crew working when weather permitted. Delays due to quite bad winter were unavoidable. They discovered the old wall lacked a proper footing so the estimate was adjusted to install a new footing. Jose was transparent about necessary adjustments. The installation took until April 4, 2026, due to weather delays and town inspections. I’m very pleased with the strong, well-drained wall. I enjoyed dealing with J&R Chavez Landscaping with two small issues, communication about delays could be improved and Jose never got back to me about some agreed post job landscaping. Still, great job."

"Overall, I had an outstanding experience with everyone from John Krause Construction. Their customer service was most impressive. They asked about and worked around my schedule, were all prompt, courteous and friendly, and showed a true desire to complete the work to my satisfaction. Their explanations of the work to be done and the time it would take were clear and accurate. They started the work in less than a week after I signed the contract, and completed it in a week. This was well beyond my expectations since a lot needed to be done, including drywall repair and painting some hard to reach areas, shingle repair, gutter cleaning, and concrete step repair. "Jesse and his team at Tillerman built a beautiful wood retaining wall along the back of my property, a fence around two-thirds of the yard, and two gates. Jesse was very responsive, punctual, and professional. The workmanship is great - prior to getting the wall, we were losing a quarter inch of yard every time it rained, but the retaining wall has stopped the erosion. The fence was raised a few weeks after the wall was installed, and the team completed the work in a day. After the fence was raised, we ran into some problems caused by the erosion that occurred prior to the retaining wall being installed, but Jesse promptly returned to deal with it. The fence looks beautiful. We would highly recommend Tillerman."
