"I really appreciated the services of the premier handyman. Charlie and Thomas were my handymen. They arrived every day around 8am and worked until 4pm. They installed a new fascia board and rehung gutter. Installed a solid wood set of 10 steps leading off the back deck, installed a new window (36” x 48”) in upstairs loft, extra spindles were placed between large gapes in already existing handrail, changes some bulbs in ceiling fan and replaced a sink faucet, added a pressure relief valve to water tank and nailed in cross bars in joists I’m crawl space. Job took 3 days and both men worked well doing quality work. I really appreciated their services, communication and professionalism. They were both kind and attentive to our needs. I would recommend them and will be using them for future work."

"Brian was recommend by a couple of other people so, I gave him a call to request an estimate. He came the next day. We walked the entire 300 yard driveway. He pointed out certain areas that might need more work to allow for proper drainage when it rains and the type of material he would use that would work the best for our situation. We also discussed about where to place the 23' x 27' concrete pad and how he would go about accomplishing that project. He would have to first dismantle an existing structure and level the area in preparation for the pour. We then agreed on a time frame and a cost. Brian was very professional and knowledgeable. He completed the entire project ahead of schedule with no additional cost. The finished projected exceeded our expectations. The driveway looks great and held up as promised through a severe downpour. The pad looks outstanding and very professionally done. The most amazing thing that this was all handled the old fashioned way with just a handshake and a man's good word to do what he says he will do. It was great working with Brian and it is good know that there are still good hard working people who take pride in their work and their word means everything. I would strongly recommend Brian and I would definitely use his services again."

"We had a concrete floor put in the barn. He also reinforced the roof. He does what he says he was going to do and my first expensive did not go that well. They also put doors on it and we wanted the doors to look like barn doors. He told me that it would be two weeks to the day to get me in the house and he last week he would work on the outside on the house. Our car was giving trouble and I called him and because I know he is honest I called him and he gave us the perfect place."

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Adamsville, TN

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
