Customers say: Terrific value

"Very Happy with the work. Steve is wonderful likes to joke a lot . we had a 12x36 concrete patio put in and it is great. You can't beat his prices . can't wait to have our picnic's back again . We had no where to sit outside. He even knew to pitch it for us that water wouldn't lay on it . Very professional . We are already waiting for for another estimate on another project. I would recommend Holland Construction to everyone ."

"Jim and his team were absolutely great. Jim communicated every step of the way. I had pictures documenting what was completed daily and he always communicated next steps. The work done was fantastic and better than what I had hoped for. Jim in particular always made me feel at ease and comfortable with being able to call him and ask any questions no matter the time or day. I would hire him and his team again in a heart beat! Thank you!"

"Mike was a great contractor. When the adjuster gave the amount the water co. would pay for damages. Mike stepped in and had them readjust the amount since they were only giving me have the amount it would cost to fix my basement. Mike went above and beyond to help in a very stressful situation. I would certainly recommend him to friends and family for their next contractor. I will call on him again."

"I hired Basements Love Us for 3 different projects. I recommend them to anyone who has water problems. The 1st time was after storm Sandy flooding, to waterproof my basement. They did a great job, the crew was awesome to work with, was a really dirty job. They covered everything before beginning the work and cleaned up so well when the work was completed. I haven't had any water in my basement since. I hired them the 2nd time, to update my sump pump and replace my battery backup system. I called them the 3rd time, last fall to waterproof my basement steps. They dug the dirt out and coated the outside of the concrete steps. They really stand by their work, I was impressed with the work the guys performed. Unfortunately the earth settled over the winter, due to heavy snow and rain. I called them to let them know the situation. Within a week they were here to re-build the soil and reinforce their work around the steps."

"First came to give an evaluation and called with the price for the parts.  When given go ahead, ordered parts and set date to come to do repair.  Arrived within timeframe and did work required.  The unit is now  running quietly.  Polite and careful including taking off shoes so that he would not dirty the carpet. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />"

"For years I had tried to move an underground downspout as it ran over a tree root and didn't drain well. Vitucci Landscaping dug up the downspout and redirected it. They also replaced some landscaping cloth and laid down quite a bit of mulch.  If I had purchased the mulch myself, it would have cost me nearly the same as they charged me.  Did a great job and kept me informed as to their arrival. Yard looks great! <br />"

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Albrightsville, PA

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
