"It went very seamlessly. I wanted some permanent outdoor lights installed on my house. He met me in person asked extremely detailed questions about what I wanted. He asked about the product I provided, did research on it on his own. He started and finished when he said he would. His team did an amazing professional job on my relatively small project. Would definitely use again."

"I called Oscar to install a whole house surge protector I had purchased online. He was able to install the device the next day. I had all the parts. Oscar had to cut a hole in the drywall and drill a hole thru the stud and into the panel ( not an easy job). Part of the problem was a full breaker panel, Oscar had to move 2 breakers to a sub-panel to make room for the new 50 amp breaker the surge protector needed. Oscar worked two hours to get the job done. He did a good job at a fair price, I would use him again. He installed my CUTLER HAMMER EATON CHSPT2 ULTRA WHOLE HOUSE BEST SURGE PROTECTOR."

"OVerall, I was very happy with the electrician who visited me.  He was capable, profressional and honest, and did good work.
I was a bit diappointed, that when he arrived, he didn't have many supplies that would be needed - he said his truck was low on stock.  {This was a simple item like a box for a light switch}.  I went to the hardware store and bought the supplies while he began other work and staging so as to not waste his time shopping, but it did seem like some simple things that would be stock items in an electrician's truck (wallplate, plug, wall box).
I paid for one extra hour at $110, and he was well worth it to finish the jobs.  He had to leave, and said he'd quote the other items on my wish list.  The owner quoted them to me, but they were at a fairly high price, and didn't have any provision for a time & materials quote, just a fixed price.  I did NOT proceed with this, as I plan to get other quotes, because this quote was just too hgih for what I was needing done.
Overall I was pleased with the timeliness, responsiveness, service.  Make sure to ask them ahead of time to bring what materials you think you'll need [since this was an Angie's list deal, i guess they didn't ask what I wanted done, so no materials were planned}

"I bought a "DEAL" so I know I got a great price on the work. Jock Wilson and his team were in and out in a flash. My trees look far better than I expected and the team left the property so clean you would have never guessed we'd had the trees done. They also stayed for a bit to answer some questions that my husband had regarding our property. We already have plans to use them again."

FAQs for outdoor lighting plan and installation projects in Aledo, TX

Permit requirements for outdoor lighting vary depending on your location and project scope. Simple fixture replacements don't require permits, but projects involving new electrical circuits, extensive trenching, or significant system expansions often do. Local building departments establish these requirements, and many professional electricians handle permit applications as part of their service package.

The timeline for outdoor lighting installation varies based on project complexity. Basic systems might require only one to two days for complete installation, while extensive lighting networks with numerous fixtures and complex wiring needs could extend to a week or longer. Weather conditions, property accessibility, and soil characteristics can all influence how quickly professionals can complete your installation.

Outdoor lighting offers both practical and aesthetic benefits that many homeowners find valuable. Beyond enhancing nighttime visibility and security, well-designed lighting can highlight architectural features and extend outdoor living hours. While installation represents a significant investment, quality lighting may potentially increase property appeal and could contribute to overall home value.

Some outdoor lighting projects are suitable for homeowner installation, particularly simple solar fixtures or low-voltage systems that plug into existing outlets. However, projects requiring new electrical connections, permanent wiring, or integration with home electrical systems demand professional expertise. Electrical work carries inherent safety risks, and improper installation could create fire hazards or code violations.

The operating cost for outdoor lighting depends primarily on your fixture types, bulb selection, and usage patterns. Energy-efficient LED fixtures consume significantly less electricity than traditional incandescent or halogen alternatives. Controlling your lighting with timers, photocells, or motion sensors can further reduce energy usage by ensuring lights operate only when needed or beneficial.
