"I have an annual contract. They come once a month and treats the lawn. This is just fertilizing and weed control.  Their communication system is pretty poor. It is a very difficult time for me to communicate to anyone there. I have tried sending emails. It could just improve."

"Rob came out this summer to provide the estimate for the work. He was knowledgeable and professional. He did recommend removing the oak tree, rather than cutting it back (I chose to ignore his recommendation). He also pointed out that several evergreens were yellowing and thinning, which I had not noticed. Another person from Arborel came out later to provide an estimate on treating this problem, which can only be done in the Spring (separate service). <br /> <br /> My only complaint (minor) was that after I agreed to the work, I did not hear back from them for a few months. I then called to ask when they were planning to schedule the work and did not hear back from them. They finally called last week and left a message that they would be there the next day. <br /> <br /> Overall, they did an excellent job. 3 people from Arborel came with a large truck and shredder. The work took about 3.5 hours and they did a thorough job of cleaning up everything. The location for the work was not easily accessible, but they managed to get it all done, exactly as I had wanted it."

"Tuma did our initial landscaping 30 years ago and it had just aged out and had overgrown a bit. Randy did an extensive new plan in September 2020 to update the layout with more modern plant types. He was very thoughtful in his plan and seriously considered our desires and the unique features of our job. Removing the old plants and trees was a large job and was accomplished quickly and with a minimum of mess and disruption. The entire job was completed within 3 days. Randy visited daily and was very willing to make both minor and major alterations mid-job. He was very meticulous in the placement of the new plants. He was also good at instructing us on how to care for the new plants to assure their proper growth. He also gave a warranty on his plants, although I forget the exact term (1 year?). The price was about what we had guessed, although we were not well versed on landscaping costs. The redone plan makes our house look much newer and is very functional and designed to provide color throughout the season. Tuma did an excellent job 30 years ago, and an even better job this year. I would recommend them highly."

"The fellow I dealt with was transferred to a different location. He was wonderful. He was just fantastic. It was probably about two or three years ago when he was transferred. So I got a different guy who was awful. He was careless. The first guy would go through the property and whatever needed to be done he would write it down. A crew would come out and get all of those things done, always to my satisfaction. They were nice and polite. It was great to work with them. I don't know whether this guy had a different crew assigned to him or what. First of all, he never bothered writing anything down. So a lot of things didn't get done. The specs I got from him omitted a lot of things the first time around. So we had to send things back and forth a couple of times before he got it right. When he was actually here he didn't write anything down. He just didn't seem to give a damn, frankly. He was nice enough. He was polite. Some people actually by name, mentioned him and said, "He was just fine." Those were usually people who wanted trees taken down. So it was really fairly simple. He would say, "Okay, we can get that out of there for you." The name of the first guy was Rich. I was in touch with him annually or more. We would walk through my yard, which is not huge. But there is a lot of stuff in it. Things that I hadn't even noticed, he would notice and say, "That tree is looking a little bit weak. We can put some stuff in the ground to help it." I was so disgusted with the other fellow who cancels an appointment at the last minute one time because it was Arbor Day and he had to go with his daughters to plant trees. He called me around 4 o' clock in the afternoon to tell me that. The appointment was at 5. He wasn't professional. I looked up Bartlett to see who his manager was because I wanted to talk to him. I really couldn't get the information I wanted on the internet. So I called back the first guy. I called him and said, "Rich, I really don't know what to do. The new guy is just a nightmare. Is there somebody out of his office that you could refer me to so that I could have a different agent." He said, "Well, I can come back. Where I am located now isn't that far away. We had a good working relationship. You're knowledgeable. I can come back." So he did. So I'm very happy. The good guy is just absolutely excellent. They're expensive. I think most tree services are expensive. So I would say they're probably in the ball park. I don't think the fellow who preceded Rich was as knowledgeable as Rich. But he was a nice guy. He was prompt and got things done."

"We hired this company primarily for week control. In spite of their 'guaranteed" weed control, I saw emerging weeds on a weekly basis. I've spoken with technicians a number of times about this and also to management by phone with no improvement in results. We are older and both have knee and back issues. With a typical southwest PA lawn that has a definite slope, hand weeding has become too difficult for me. After two seasons of poor results (and a husband who is slow to complain and doesn't like change), I'm done."

"We have solicited quotations from 6 contractors/professionals from Angie?s List and received proposals from five of the six.  All six visited our home and have viewed our backyard.  Providers were initially selected based upon previous Angie?s List A ratings in our area (15017). <br /> Quality/safety is of upmost importance and was a major influence in our decision.  We needed to be comfortable with the <br /> construction process, materials, design, professionalism of provider, etc. while ensuring we were getting a competitive cost. <br />  Scope of Work: <br /> We appreciated everyone?s ideas on how to best layout our patio.  Although we were not finalized on dimensions, type of pavers/materials, landscaping and layout, below were the minimums we included as part of this project.  These are the things we will be moving forward with as part of the project at a minimum and how we analyzed the proposals of each professional.   <br /> Paver patio: <br /> - Under our deck (approximate dimensions of 20? x 10?) <br /> - Lawn area (20?x10? minimum) <br /> - Paver walkway from driveway, around our deck steps to patio <br /> - Fire Pit (could be round or square) <br /> - Sitting wall around half of fire pit <br />        <br /> The cost component was broken out into a cost per square foot to install the patio as each professional quoted different dimensions ranging from 500 ? 985 square feet. All pavers quoted were similar in price as we checked with the <br /> manufacturer of the pavers (a majority of the providers quoted the same style and company of paver anyway) <br /> The fire pit and sitting wall was added in as part of the total cost analysis as separate elements. <br />"
