"We hired Brick Experts to do several projects at our house in Grapevine: - Stabilize a wing wall that had sunk by a couple of inches - Repair/complete some brick work that was incomplete when we bought the house - Repair several cracks in the mortar joints on our house and on our mailbox - Stabilized the brick work over our garage door (it was sagging and causing cracks in the mortar) David's crew did excellent work across the board. Their attention to detail was excellent, even despite the extremely hot weather (it was 104 degrees one of the days the crew was working!). I also appreciated that David checked in at the job site regularly to make sure the crew was on track, and performing the work properly. Ultimately, the crew did a great job, and for a very reasonable price. Regards, Scott"

"They repaired a brick driveway entry post for us that someone had run into and damaged. Problem is the brick for that post is no longer available. Took the post down, removed the old mortar brick-by-brick, and matched the old mortar about perfectly when they built it back, replacing a single damaged brick (I had a few left they could use). Prompt, courteous, timely service."

"They were hired to replace worn and missing bricks from the outside of our house, which is 67 years old. The house looked like we should call a Priest to administer last rites, but they said they could help. Cynically, we hired them but had low expectations. Boy, weâ re we wrong! Corrie and his associate did a great job and tremendously improved the appearance of our house! The house looks much newer, and all the damaged and missing brick has been replaced. They did a great job matching the replaced brick to look like the undamaged original! We also had trouble with the rain overflowing the drains on a flat roof over our garden room. They installed a diverter to route the excess rain away, waterproofed the ducts and vents, and installed a cricket behind our bar room chimney to divert rain from settling behind the chimney and rotting through to the bar ceiling. They worked very hard, and did a great job! Corrieâ s crew was very knowledgeable, professional, polite and friendly! Easy to work with and talk to, and took the time to explain the pros and cons of all of their actions!! They were very reasonably priced, and we received exceptional value from them!!! We highly recommend them and canâ t be more favorably impressed with them, or appreciative that they would help us!!! Kent D."

FAQs for brick or stone tuck pointing projects in Allen, TX

Masons charge between $70 and $110 per hour. A mason may have a minimum service fee ranging from $80 to $300. Most bricklayers offer free estimates and charge only if you proceed with the project. This clear pricing model assures that professionals inspect your property before beginning work and charge based on your project’s actual requirements.

A professional repointing lasts 20 to 30 years without maintenance and extends up to 50 years when maintained diligently. This process protects your brickwork using high-quality materials that ensure lasting performance and durability. Consistent upkeep preserves its strength and appearance, providing enduring protection and enhancing your home’s overall structural integrity for decades.

You know your house needs repointing when you notice clear signs such as cracked, flaking, or missing mortar and visible discoloration on the brick surfaces. Additional indicators include loose bricks, water damage, and gaps between the brick joints that compromise the overall integrity of the structure. Addressing these issues promptly protects your investment and sustains the durability and curb appeal of your home.

A house needs repointing to preserve both its structural integrity and visual appeal. Mortar acts as a vital bonding agent that holds the bricks securely together. When the mortar deteriorates, it exposes the structure to water infiltration and further decay, increasing the risk of costly repairs. Repointing stops decay and reinforces the exterior, ensuring long-term protection.
