"I participated in Dominion's Energy Efficiency Rebate program, which NRG Masters (dba Northcoast Energy Masters) is a participating contractor. Of the three quotes received, NRG Masters and one other contractor were competitively priced. However that other contractor do not spray foam gaps in basement. NRG Master crew arrived on time on scheduled date, they properly sealed the attic entrance so the cellulose does not blow throughout the house and to keep my pets from going upstairs. Wall insulation was performed outside, where they removed the siding, blew in cellulose into the wall and ,closed the opening and reinstalled the removed siding. They spray foamed rim joists all around the basement perimeter and a big gap where the kitchen bumped out, such that one of my cats tend to climb into and where she cannot be reached. They insulated it and closed it with dry wall so my cat can no longer go in. The crew cleaned up the work areas, They vacuum the attic, and cleaned up the basement area, though they missed some of the small spray foam drippings, which were easily removed on the concrete ground, which I believed to be not an issue. A week later I opened the attic storage area, some of the cellulose blew in. I had to followed up multiple times with e-mails and phone calls to get a return call and schedule a follow up to fix the problem. Ray said the cellulose blowing in is from the gable vent, which may have been overstuffed with cellulose. A month later, the crew came back to clean up the cellulose. Months later, I followed up with another energy audit from Dominion's program. I learned the home energy efficiency for my house improved from 2800 (before the insulation work) CFM50 (blow door test) to 2100 as proposed by NRG Master. I, also, followed up with Dominion regarding the status of my rebate, and I learned that Ray did not submit the paper work required for the rebate. I followed up with multiple calls and e-mails. At the same time Dominion representatives also reached out to him. A few weeks later, I learned that Dominion did speak with Ray and he submitted the necessary paper work, and a month later, I did get my rebate check. The slow responsiveness received from NRG Master may be attributed to their busy schedule, I had to wait about one month and half before they could perform the work at my house, so it is understandable that arising issues and filing paper work can fall to the side, though not acceptable from a customer perspective."

"This is a "first class" moving firm. Before selecting them I thoroughly researched long distance moving companies. I had 4 quotes & Moving Ahead was in the middle range. The others all had very familiar names but to some degree, I felt like they were going to get my contract & then dump me off to another firm. Not the case with MAS in that they loaded our home in Cle & the "lead mover"  in Richfield was also the same person who drove our home out to SoCal. Before I committed to this firm I made an unannounced drop in visit to the facility were our furniture would be stored. They were very cordial & the facility was fine ( temp control.& 24 hr security).

  They were extremely professional & throughout the process I dealt with several of their staff members. A young guy named Spensir was the lead mover in Richfield & he was absolutely Outstanding!  Our home is 5000 sf so a lot of "stuff" was stored & then moved for us. The unloading took aprox 8 hrs & went very smoothly with Spensir overseeing everything. He actually worked right along side the local crew  that he had hired. The only damage was a small tear on the bottom ruffle of one of our couches and a mirror was cracked. Four days after our move-in  I got a call from their manager Devin wanting to know how everything went from our perspective.  He was aware of the minor damage to the two items & simply said:  

      " sorry for the two damaged items; get them repaired to your satisfaction & have the bills sent directly to Moving Ahead".

 This company & it's staff remind me of a smaller firm where personalized service truly is important.

  On a different tangent re a long distance move with pets. We flew our two cats from CLE to LAX non-stop with United & that went well. Mistake we made was to book our flight & then I called United's Pet Travel desk to book the pets. Unfortunately, the flight I had booked was not accepting pets. What I learned is that some flights accept a total of 4 pets, some 2 & some none. I fly enough where the change fee was free but it could have cost an additional few hundred dollars for some flyers. In short - if you plan to "fly" your pets, call the airline's Pet Desk  first to check on availability for your pets & then make your corresponding reservations."

"I took advantage of the $399 special for 16 man hours of work (8 hours of 2-man work). Steve and his assistant did a very good job of removing the old (peeling and mouldy) wallpaper and spackling and painting the walls and woodwork. They were very up front about the what they would be doing and the cost. The special was just for one day and because the spackle had to dry, they had to come back a second day to do the wall and ceiling painting which cost an additional $340. Even though they did not need the full 16 hours to do the wallpaper removal and the spackling, I used part of that time to have them paint all the cabinets, woodwork around the window and bathroom door. Still, I think it was a good deal. We provided the paint (I bought Behr premium paint since it gets the best reviews on Consumer Reports). They did a clean, professional job including the cleanup and I am very happy with how everything turned out. This was a job I could have done myself, but it would have taken me much longer and these guys did a much better job than I could (this is their profession, after all), so it was worth every penny. And the bathroom looks great!"
