"Great service! Just needed tankless water heater flushed and it took about an hour. During the wait time the technician inquired if there were other plumbing issues needing addressing. Though I had nothing else, we talked about PMs to do and he gave me some good tips. A bit expensive but quality work."

"<p>This is the 2nd time we have used this company. The water line to the refrigerator was in the slab in the wall behind the refrigerator that we were relocating. He chiseled out the concrete and  capped the line. Then ran a new line to the refrigerator. Did a stellar job. I would highly recommend them.</p> <p><br /> </p>"

"Professional and polite on the phone. Very Prompt on returning calls. After arriving for estimate, Lewis was able to arrange to have heater delivered and installed the same day when we thought it would be a day or so later. Without question we will use Lasiter and Lasiter again and recommend them without question. When we had problems with the city inspector showing up, Lasiter and Lasiter went out of their way to contact the city a second and I believe a third time and kept me well informed of the inspectors final arrival time. Excellent interaction and assistance from beginning to end. Ken"

"We had a very difficult plumbing leak, under sidewalk. Daniel tried to take care of the problem, trying less expensive fix first. When that failed, he told me how much fix would be and he solved our problem with least expensive optition. He did a great job for us. Would hire again and/or recommend him."

"I was extremely disappointed in the work performed. I had to call them back right away because I noticed that the caulk did not cover the shim that they placed to level the new toilet. Only later did I realize that they had also put a large scratch in the vanity while installing the faucet. While they were working, they constantly complained and said "****-it" as if installing a new toilet and faucet in a well-maintained home were the most difficult tasks. When they came back to redo the caulk, they moaned and swore some more. I know first-hand that caulk is finicky to work with, but if they are this frustrated with caulking a new Toto toilet, I would never trust them with anything challenging! I had already removed and disposed of the old toilet myself and the flooring had been professionally redone, so it should have been fairly routine. They are also very expensive. When speaking directly to me, they were polite, but while working, they seemed to be having a hard time."

"Called Next Level Plumbing first thing Mon AM, originally had an apt time for 11:00 AM but they had to change my time to ~2 hrs later due to one of their jobs taking longer than planned. The receptionist did a great job calling to let us know about this hiccup and called again when the guys were on their way. I was really nervous this was going to be expensive because of the three things I thought were wrong. Turns out the only problem was the original shutoff valve needing to be replaced. The water spraying from the pipe was just the spray coming from the shutoff valve onto the pipe fitting. And the copper tubing for the disposal just had to be pushed up higher into the disposal, no danger of leaking from it. The plumber was very nice, knew what he was doing, and was pretty quick. Once he saw the problem, he and his apprentice had to run down the street to our local ACE Hardware store to get a part, then returned and finished replacing the valve quickly. The best part? The price! We'd used a different plumber about 5 yrs ago to replace the original shutoff valves under my husband's sink in the bathroom, and that had cost a lot (in the $300's, as I recall). We were only charged in the $100's, including the Angie List discount. Will call them again the next time we have a plumbing problem."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Alvarado, TX

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
