"After we made our final decision of the fencing details, Terry waited patiently while we took our variance request to the city counsel for their approval. We needed the fencing to be 42 inches tall to keep in our larger dog and we needed an additional post in the lower half of the fence to keep in the smaller dog. It took about 12 weeks from payment of the first check to the delivery of the fencing. That was the hardest wait for us because we had thought about this for years. Having finally made the decision, we wanted the fence immediately! The crew was awesome. They came every day for five days and put up 700 feet and five gates of the most beautiful fence we had ever seen. It is an ornamental fence and Terry suggested that we get it in bronze instead of black. The color is actually more of a gray and it looks perfect with our house. We have received so many compliments from our neighbors and people just driving by. It looks like it was always meant to be here. We love it, our dogs love it. Thanks to Terry and the installation crew!
"

"
I have exclusively shopped for home furnishings at Benson Stone Company for approximately 10 years. It all started when I was shopping for a grandfather clock. A pleasant, energetic and knowledgeable furniture salesperson/designer (Donna) approached me. She helped me pick the most grand and beautiful clock. I have not seen another one that I like better! Then, she helped me furnish my entire condominium. Since I have sold the condominium and I am furnishing a home twice the size of my condominium. The furniture that Donna has chosen for both homes is unique (often 1 of a kind) and impressive.

Being a decorator, Donna, has a gift for making every room beautiful and flow with the remainder of the house. People enter my home, their lower jaw drops and they become silent (speech-less) and gaze. I have been told by several people, that I have one of the most unique and impressive homes in Rockford.. All of the complements should go to Donna!

Donna is extremely creative. I refer to her as my exterior decorator also. She is the mastermind behind my deck and landscaping ideas. Donna is only a phone call away and makes house calls. After 10 years, I consider Donna as one of my friends.

Though Donna, I have met several other knowledgeable personnel at Benson Stone. One of the most noteworthy is Jeannie (granite and window furnishing salesperson and designer). Jeannie is very talented and fabulous to work with. She has made many of my unique granite and window furnishing dreams possible.

Other helpful Benson Stone personnel include: Bill (flooring expert), Larry (furniture sales manager), Colleen (furniture salesperson/designer), Chris (granite fabricator), Eric (granite installer), Tyler (billing) and many others. Because of my multiple purchases, the owner Andy Benson, knows me by name.

I will not shop at any other furniture stone in Rockford, IL. Thank you, Donna and Benson Stone for making my previously owned condominium and my current home beautiful!
238
"

"They're still in the process of working with us. We started working with them about eight years ago, so we've been doing stuff with them for a long time. They did the original landscaping for us years ago and there's a couple of trees and things they put in for us. I think they do a good job. It's pretty easy communicating with them. They came up with the whole plan for the whole thing for us to begin with. They're pretty much always A's, that's why we keep using them."

"esInitially it started out well but as is typical in this industry, things start to fall off. He is able to do most phases of construction but prefers trimwork. The scope of work that we had didn't fit where he wanted to be. If it was a single job that he was being hired for, I think he would be good. He did good work but we do a lot of custom stuff and that throws our subs off sometimes. Super nice guy and I felt that he was trustworthy.
"

"Hardwood floor has three places where installer did not get nails set and caused splinters in the next board--so now three boards have to be cut out and face nailed in--all three in high traffic areas. they also left a scratch in a board in the front entry and miscut a board by the cabinets. I'm now having to make a piece of moulding to cover their mistake. Face nailed all end boards instead of drilling edges and hand nailing (guess they were too close to the wall for their nailer). And they used an air nailer and didn't even bother to puttey the holes. Painters made a mess-they put the new floor down first then painted so we have paint splatters all over the new floor, they didn't bother to cover some of the cabinets so they had Sheetrock mud and dust from a small repair all over them. And they rolled the wall above the chair rail without covering the chair rail so it was totally paint splattered. the new hardwood floor in the dinig room had something all, over it near the walls, we're guessing they tried to wipe their paint spills up with a dirty rag and just smeared it. The wife had to get on her hands and knees to clean it. its been one and a half weeks sine the foreman was shown the floor issues (oh yea-they cracked two of the hardwood thresholds going into bedrooms when they nailed it down but just left them) and still no one has shown up to repair or told us what they were going to do. So far the only part of this project that has gone well was the counter top install and that was by a third party.
"
