"I met with Vince in the late summer to discuss a project that I wanted done prior to the fall. I wanted a retaining wall, some brick-paver patios, and a brick staircase done for my landscaping project. Additionally, I'd need some dirt brought in and moved around. We discussed timing, and pricing. They were competitively priced, and I could tell that they were the type of people that I wanted to work with. They were very busy that summer, but they kept me informed as to when they would be able to get to my project. Rain delayed the project longer than I would have liked - but I'm sure that's the case for all landscapers. They put in extra hours on Saturdays once the weather cooperated. After they thought the job was done, we discussed to ensure it met my needs. I had some specific things that I wanted done (size of the wall, etc.), and they kept coming back until I was satisfied. They did everything in their power to make me happy. They said they'd never had an unsatisfied customer, and that streak continues. They made sure I was happy, and went the extra mile to ensure it. Feel confident in giving them a call. Make sure they know your expectations, and they'll get the job done (and keep on working until you are happy)."

"We really appreciated Jesse's input and ideas on how to make the deck more useful once the patio was installed. While we didn't end up using Jesse's services because we did not expand the deck, we greatly appreciated his valuable input and his eye for future growth. He didn't try to sell us on an expansion because he knew that it would't increase our use of the deck. He was very honest with us and we know that he can be trusted to give an honest review of what work needs to be done."

"Adam and all his team were top notch. I had heard horror stories from friends building with other construction companies and I thankfully didn't have any of that. Adam is a good communicator, returning calls and is available anytime an issue arose. His crew was great and all the subs, pleasant and open to suggestions, good with problem solving, and picked up after themselves. Highly recommend."

"I contacted Wright Outdoor Solutions late on a Wednesday afternoon because we had a branch that started cracking, was sitting over the power line, and looked like it would go at any moment. They called me back first thing on Thursday and within an hour, someone was out to assess the situation and provided a quote. Even though their schedule was quite busy they squeezed us in and were out Friday. It was such a relief to have the branch taken care of instead of falling and taking out our power and possibly other's along the line. Thank you Ryan and team. I would definitely recommend Wright Outdoor Solutions."

"Lenc responded quickly to my email, and scheduled a visit to discuss the work a few days later. They were punctual and personable, and said I'd have a quote within a week. The quote has never come, and I had someone more eager for my business do the work. <br />"

"515 Landscaping replaced our fence, deck, sprinkler, all landscaping in our 1/3+ acre yard, as well as created a gorgeous water feature. We were always updated about progress (even complicated by quarantine!). They did a great job with design, respecting our needs but with an updated look. Their estimate price was very accurate and all additional costs were discussed so we had no financial surprises. All employees were hardworking, reliable and kind. A+ employees! They followed up with sub contractors on our sprinkler work. They made sure the complete job was done. 100% happy! (Always go for the water feature!)"

FAQs for interlocking pavers for driveways & floors installation projects in Ames, IA

With proper maintenance, permeable pavement can last for over 20 years. Bi-annual vacuuming prevents clogs from debris and sediment, extends the pavement’s lifespan, and helps you avoid costly driveway repairs. Permeable pavement often has a shorter lifespan in areas with heavy traffic or harsh weather conditions.

Pervious and porous usually refer to pouring asphalt or concrete—which is a single massive object—but with enough small holes to allow for even drainage. This is also sometimes called thirsty concrete. Permeable concrete pavers are precast concrete designed to also allow for drainage. Permeable grass pavers allow grass to grow through them and provide drainage.

Pervious, porous, and permeable pavers are similar because they make it easier for rain or snow to drain or absorb into the ground rather than overload the storm or sewer systems.

The most significant benefit of water-permeable pavement is that it helps precipitation absorb better (and slower) into the ground, which avoids overloading sewers and causing overflows and backups. It also helps recharge the groundwater and prevent agricultural runoff from lawns.

If you’ve ever seen water rushing into a storm drain, permeable pavement prevents that. Instead of water running off a steep driveway, a good amount of it “soaks” directly underneath the pavement.

Topmix permeable concrete costs $8 to $16 per square foot, including all installation costs. However, they give out estimates on a project-by-project basis. However, Tarmac, the company that made the product, no longer produces Topmix.

Ecoraster is a brand that offers many different permeable paving options in North America. Prices vary depending on the product and project. They’ll give estimates for each individual project. While not actual pavers, these grids serve a similar function. Ecoraster grids come in various styles and allow for similar drainage compared to permeable pavers or porous paving.

Permeable driveways may cost slightly more than a traditional paving type, but they reduce or eliminate the need to install any other type of drainage system. Drainage systems cost $2,000 to $6,500 to install. They also reduce stormwater runoff, sewer overflows, and help eliminate urban agriculture runoff, which can pollute waterways.
