"Initial rep was great and informative. Felt comfortable with initial sale. Hardly had any contact from customer service except for the payments. There were several delays that we were not informed about unless we called to ask. Took 7 months before they showed up to begin project. Only 1 person was sent to build steps. Took a week. Hard worked, hardly took a break. Had to call again to see when they would come to pour patio. Never knew when they were coming, they just showed up. Hardly spoke with the homeowners. Inspection paperwork was just left on porch. Additional paperwork that is "required by the County" had to be completed by homeowner and taken to Court house to be notarized and filed and also provide a copy back to Long Fence. Time sensitive materials which added to homeowners to-do list. Gave this contract to LF on the surface of their history and appearance of a 'good local company' but should have stayed with original contactors in VA. Puddle of water forms when it rains"

"P. J. McTavish & Co. from Burtonsville, MD was hired to replace and repair a very old damaged roof on my Rancher Home, which has a few additions in the rear. These additions have many peaks, valleys and an area of flat roof. We had many other companies look at it and some didn’t even want to take on the job, and if they did it was for a price I could not afford. I had officially given up hope. This truly was not an easy job to partake in. Hiring P.J. McTavish & Co. was truly the best decision. Mr. Pat was caring and truthful about the horrible shape my roof was in. I knew he was being truly honest, cause I heard from other contractors the same problems. But he assured us his team would do the job as efficiently as possible. Each and everyone on his team were respectful, efficient, and professional. I was so impressed with how his team worked so closely together and seemed to take a lot of respect in their work, and our home and yard…which let’s be honest…you do not see that much in today’s world. Pat kept us well informed of all the progress. There are not enough “Thank You’s” I can give to this whole team of wonderful men. Everyone stayed steadily busy and worked very hard. Mr. “Pat” McTavish must be so proud of his employees. Happy employees show good management. My hat is off to you Pat and your team! The work was supreme and done extremely well. "They came pormptly to view the project and provided a prompt excellent value bid. The communication and scheduling were right on and took into account some of my timing issues. The entire team came the week prior to the start date to discuss any issues that may arise to avoid delays. They answered all my questions. They communicated and were very cognizant for placing their materials They have worked diligently every day from early morning to late evening with an incredible work force who do a great job and are very conscientious and respectful End of each day they clean up and replace their equipment out of the way They completed the job on time in spite of the weather. Their entire team were personable, professional, respectful and diligent and obviously proud of their work. We are overwhelmingly satisfied and would recommend them especially for this type of roof without any reservation. This was a very challenging project-large roof-alot of demo work and prep work-steep and complicated roof. Cudos to the entire company. Thanks M & J"

"This is a horrible company, not only will they tell you it will run your whole house for a week if the battery backup is installed. Then you find out for 32k it will run the refer, microwave and a light. When you question them they tell you it can?t power anything on a 220V circuit. So you will burn up in the summer and freeze in the winter. The system won?t even produce enough power to offset the grid power you use. IF THEY COME TO YOUR HOUSE AND TRY AND SELL YOU ANYTHING, get rid of them. I?ve saved a friend from spending 48k with this company. I have also contacted the NC Attorney General?s office along with the BBB. They promised to install a generator to run my AC and after the solar was installed, they said no one told me that. THEY WILL LIE AND CHEAT YOU OUT OF YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY AND ALL YOU?LL HEAR IS CRICKETS. Oh and if anyone is dumb enough to use this sham of a company , they will send you a video and make you turn the whole system on without sending anyone. "
