"<p>Rhoden Roofing came to my attention through the recommendation of a friend whom had Rhoden replace his roof.  Although there are a number of quality roofing companies to choose from and the bids are similar in cost and value, I choose Rhoden Roofing because Brett went the extra mile to explain in detail what was going to be done, why it was going to be done, why it was being done and when the job would be completed.</p> <p>The crew was timely, efficient and competent.  The work was performed as promised and when the job was completed there was no debris and the house.  The yard was left spotless.  I would not hesitate to recommend Rhoden Roofing to anyone. </p> <br />"

"It went quickly. The installers were very professional and knowledgeable about their job and product. They cleaned up so it was like they had not been here except there is a new roof sitting on top of the house. I would recommend these folks. <br>"

"We got the Landwehr Roofing name from Angie's List and called them.  Two days later they sent their foreman, Josh, to inspect the roof and give us an estimate.  He climbed all over that roof measureing and inspecting, making notes.  This was not a cursory glance but an inspection and evaluation of every nook and cranny.  This led to a bid for the job with good discussions, questions and answers explaining materials, process and technique, choices, time frame, expense; Josh is certainaly knowledgeable and profesional, courteous, a good and responsive listener, and patient. <br />        Later, we contacted two other roofing companys to compare with each other and with the insurance adjuster and his estimates. It was an interesting experience; the estimates were similar but the materials, attitude, professionalisn did not measure up and it was obvious and easy to choose Landwehr.  (Note that from beginning to finish, every phone call was answered or returned immediately and that every single date, time, deadline, was met.  They did everyting they said they would do!)  Landwehr began work within a week of our mutual agreement. They removed aproximently 31 squares of shingles and replaced the felt drip edge, pipe flashings and 7 roof vents along with the 31 squares of new shingles.  They reflashed 2 chimneys and Installed moisture guard around the chimneys and in all valleys.  Now, get this!  They began all this, the delivery of all materials early Friday morning, began removing shinges and by noon began replacing the roof.  They finished everything including an immaculate clean-up by Saturday night.  If you get the notion that this was a slap-dash job you would be wrong. This was  a professional job and preformed with care and craftsmanship.  Upon completion of the new roof, I walked all over that roof with Josh and Mike Landwehr looking at everything they were looking at.  They were really pleased with their crew, their hard wook, the materials and their accomplishmet.  You could see that they were proud of their work.  I was really proud of them, proud of myself for my excellent choice of a great roofing company and extra proud of my new water-tight and good looking new roof. <br />"

"The first time I used Triton Roofing was to roof a 950 sq. ft. shop.  I was so impressed with the installation that I hired them to install 6700 watt solar array and partial re-roof on my home which we are very pleased with.   A year later hail damage forced the re-roof of the entire home.  I went back to Triton. Three jobs later, I am totally satisfied with the cost, schedule, performance and customer relationship of this company.  Well done! <br />"

"Very happy with the replacement of the roof and guttering. The Project Manager thoroughly explained the cost and timeline for completion of the work and everything went smoothly. What impressed me the most was the way Andy responded right back when I had questions on the roof and guttering replacement."

"Job completed to my total satisfaction. Service tech made a recommendation of something called "Gutter Stuff" which fits into the gutters to prevent accumulation of leaves, twigs, etc. I purchased the items myself which saved me money and they came back out a week later to install them. Very pleased with their services, have used them several times for various home projects. Always responsive, prices are fair for services provided."

"My sales rep was very ambitious and helped with my initial claim with my insurance company. I liked that he took the initiative and helped me with an unfamiliar situation, so I went with him. The workers were amazing and put in a very long day after seeing my house was not up to code. After the old roof was taken off, I found that my front door would not open or close without difficulty and my caulking on my ceiling molding had separated on 3 walls. I pointed that out to the sales rep after his return and he was baffled as to why that happened and made several inquiries as to what happened, and then left. After the roofers added the wood and shingles, the front door would open and close with no difficulty, which was a good thing. The most disappointing thing was that he never checked back to ask or follow up on the problem that I had. I was also told that they had a huge magnet that they would run around my house that would pick up all the stray nails. A lot that I found got thrown out, but I kept finding nails, so I started saving them to show upon his return and I never seen him. Overall, they did do a great job with my roof and gutters, but not sure why I did not get a follow-up on my door not closing and opening without difficulty, or the caulking separating. I now have 2 other interior doors that I have a problem with, one is difficult to close and one will not close at all. Not sure if that is their responsibility or not. I said yes that I would hire the again, but I wish there was a Maybe box, because what if my front door did not correct itself on opening and closing? What do I do with the doors that have problems with closing?"

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Andover, KS

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
